A regular Tuesday tv slot in our household, is The Kitchen Job. Tonight’s feature food outlet was The White Lady – the iconic bus/caravan towed into town in the evening to serve the late-night crowd some yummy kiwi burgers.
My partner and I have fond (and slightly hazy) memories of late night escapades in downtown Auckland, hanging around by the White Lady in Commerce Street drooling over the dripping steak burgers. We loved it. My Dad has stories of it from when he was a teenager, and I can remember him taking me there for a burger in my adolescent years, when it lived in Shortland Street.
We’re so pleased that The White Lady has been re-invigorated – it’s such an icon of late night Auckland.
We’re looking forward to our next opportunity to try out the revamped menu. Has anyone out there given it a go since the renovation? The White Lady has just been listed on MenuMania, so we’d love to see some reviews there for The White Lady.

Following the show I’ve asked my partner to take me there dinner this week – ahhh the memories. Will advise.
