Wow!!!! Taste of Auckland.
The food, the social ambience, the wine, the experience went waaaay beyond our expectations.
The Taste of Wellington & Taste of Christchurch shows are coming up later in 2009 too (get on the mailing list for release dates, by going to the website www.tastefestivals.co.nz).
My favourite moments included leaning around the communal stand-up tables savouring delightful culinary treats . . . and comparing, oohing & aahing over dishes with fellow festival goers. It was quite simply, the Garden of Eden for foodies.
Add to that, the Fisher & Paykel cooking theatre where the chefs show you how it’s done, Bob Campbell’s Taste Wine Masterclass, and the opportunity to get up close and personal with various chefs at the Taste Magazine’s Chefs’ Table. (All these opportunities are included in the price of your entry ticket.)
Christchurch & Wellington people: . . . make sure you pre-purchase your premium tickets which include some ‘Crowns’ for you to spend at the event. The minimum you’d want to spend at the event is about $60 – so start saving. Just make sure you’re there!!! It’s worth every cent.
For those of you who went along, feel free to leave comments here about your favourite dish/es!!
