50 Bistro offers Christchurch inspired bistro food with modern flavours, excellent wines and a great bar. The menu offers a large variety of dishes featuring classic dishes twisted with our own 50 flair. Executive Chef, Andrew Brown, leads the kitchen team designing seasonal menus using the best local produce.

The stylish interior flows out to a generous outdoor area, complete with fire tables that reflect the warm hues of the orange onyx wall inside, making 50 Bistro the perfect place to meet any time of the day for coffee, cocktails and bar snacks or a meal.

With windows overlooking Hagley Park, breakfast in 50 Bistro is the ideal spot to start any day. Lunchtime brings with it a buzzy vibe offering great versatility and value with a selection of light meals and salads in addition to entrées and grills and desserts. Lunch here was a birthday treat and it certainly was. We shared a bread platter, which was very tasty and then both had fillet steaks. Cooked perfectly as ordered. Was great that we had a choice of 2 side dishes each included in the price. Service was excellent and a classy place to eat.

One of CHC’s top restaurants…but do order a side of Vegies or salad as the courses generally are served as a ‘stack’ on top of a varied array of potato- type arrangement(classy though – but you know the sort of ‘foodie-speak’ description)
We always order a portion of bread for two before the main course – this comes with Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar for dipping…
Always excellent – service & food…we’ve eaten there a zillion times
