Gone are the days where you can spend a relaxing evening around a dinner table with friends. Four of us dined at Agenda on Saturday evening. Arriving at our booked table at 7pm we were greeted by the waitress and within 10 minutes we were being asked if we were ready to order. That set the precedence for the evening. Entrees were served and as soon as the last person finished, plates were cleared and mains were on the table within 5 minutes. Having been rushed through that also, we asked for some time before we ordered desserts. We were given 5 mins before the waitress was hovering around waiting for us to stop talking to take the order. Desserts showed no resemblance to what was named on the menu. The meal was average at best. In and out of the restaurant in 1.5hrs and $300 lighter. We felt it was one big rush so they could get another cover in before they made it a nightclub. Very disappointed.

We had dinner here on a Saturday night. We hadn’t booked, but the friendly staff found us a table straightaway.
The service was top class, not intrusive, but we were asked several times whether we were enjoying our meals.
The whole meal was excellent – we couldn’t fault it in any way.
The staff here are obviously well trained and enjoy working at Agenda, reflected in their friendly attitude and helpfulness.
I would recommend Agenda to anyone.

I had been recommended to try Agenda from three different friends, and had been meaning to do this for a while now – only just got around to it last week.
On arriving we were greeted by the wait staff, and allowed to choose our table. We sat right at the front, almost half outside which was nice on a warm night like it was.
The drinks came out really fast, two of our party tried their cocktails which were on special, and were impressed. (I made a mental note to come back one night when we weren’t driving!) I just had a beer – can’t really get that wrong.

First out were the appetisers, all were nice, but the ones that really stood out were the stuffed mushrooms – my one, that was amazing! and the Venison, which was really different, and came with a chocolate sauce. The idea seems a little strange, but I had a taste, it it was different, but good.

I can’t go past a good steak, and this was actually what was recommended to me, so I went for the Filet Mignon. It was cooked just how I like it, medium rare, and was really tasty. All the mains were nice, but I honestly think mine was the best. :) Make sure you try the steak!

I had no room for dessert, but one of my friends tried the Creme Brulee – made from some kind of honey bourban. That was the only dessert we tried, but it was really nice.

I’ve heard some of my friends say sometimes it’s lacking in atmosphere, and I guess I can understand why they say that – there’s lots of open space.

I went for dinner at Agenda the other night for dinner and it was absolutely amazing. The service was excellent and the food was divine. I had the Deep Fried Camembert to start, followed by the Fillet Mignon. The steak was cooked to perfection. Our server was very knowledgeable about the tap and craft beers as well as the wines, and was able to match a fantastic red wine with my meal. I can see why Agenda won best restaurant in the Tempo awards, this was an absolutely fantastic experience and I can not wait to return in the near future, as I was told they have a new menu coming soon. Thank you Agenda for the unforgettable dining experience.

We have been here a few times, for good reason. Even on ’2 for 1′ Tuesday nights, the mains were large and perfectly cooked. Staff were friendly and happy to make small changes to the meals (ie swapping vegetables). Food was perfectly cooked, and flavours were divine. Would totally recommend, and will keep going back!

I absolutely love going to Agenda. The food is delicious, the atmospere is lovely and the waiting staff are wonderful- and they’re great with my two little ones. I’ll use any excuse to go there :) . We’ve been a number of times but my favourite meal is always the eye fillet (and dessert!).

Having heard great things about Agenda I booked a table for a Thursday night. My steak was cooked terribly and nobody bothered to ask how our meal was going at any stage of the night. I will not be returning to Agenda

Went to Agenda for dinner last week and started a MenuMania account purely so I could tell everyone how fantastic they were!
We hadn’t booked and they were rather busy but with little hesitation they rearranged tables to fit us in. The staff were rushed off their feet but always made time to make sure we were well looked after and had everything we needed. Our waitress was really friendly and super helpful with suggestions on meals and drinks.
I had a venison special which was stunning and an ORGANIC wine? Not a big wine drinker but thought I’d try something new and thoroughly enjoyed it. My partner had steak with seafood and that was also cooked really well.
The background music is really well suited to the environment and the fires make the large area really cozy.
You’d never know that this place doubled as a nightclub. Highly recommended!

I tried to dine at Agenda last Saturday night and couldn’t get a table. This evening I booked. I can see why they are busy! Food was 10/10. Our waitress recommended the Confit Duck. I was extremely happy I took her advice. It just melted in your mouth. My partner had the fish of the day, which was snapper on lemon scented risotto. The fish was cooked perfectly and was clearly fresh. I was baffled to see a poor review based on the risotto as it was fantastic! The staff here were great. They were knowledgeable and friendly. They suggested perfect wine matches to complement the meal. My partner tried the cocktail of the month which was a “berry nice Bellini”. I wasn’t a fan be she loved it. We finished our evening with the chef’s homemade white and milk chocolate cheese cake! I cant think of words to explain it. Go here and try it for yourself! Thank you Agenda. We will be back.

Agenda provides top quality service, great food and a positive dining experience. I had the eye fillet dish, and thought it was amazing; best steak I have had in Hamilton. They have a large range of top quality whiskeys that made my experience so much better. I can not wait to return and try other meals on their menu. Thank you to the Agenda team, I have never been so happy to leave a tip! :)

We have given Agenda several opportunities to prove themselves, and they continue to disappoint. They started out okay with their food, but our last 3 visits have been extremely disappointing.

We ordered the fish, hapuka, on a bed of risotto. The fish was okay, but the risotto was just plain bland! We are not chefs, and yet we could have cooked a way tastier fish dish! It had absolutely NO taste to it whatsoever! When we told our waitress, she told us that she would inform the chef. And that was it. When we informed the duty manager, she couldn’t care less.

This is the 3rd bad food experience at Agenda. We will never be back!!!

Well I had recently been quite a regular at this restaurant and recommended it to my workmates for a birthday dinner out. We had booked a table for six on a Tuesday night when the have the 2 for 1 main meal deal on the day we rung up and asked if we could add another two people to our table only to be told that they were fully booked, fair enough but when we sat down at our table we had noticed that a table just down for us had been allowed to add extra people to their table with no fuss so we thought that was unfair that we couldn’t. When we were all seated the waitress come over and asked everyone at the table for ID we were having dinner not coming to get drunk, our manager who was at the table had lost her wallet and we were told that they would not let us dine as she didn’t have ID and who wasn’t drinking in the first place so we said fine we will leave to which the waitress added good luck finding a place to eat with no ID which was really sarcastic very unpleasant experience and I am no longer a regular at the establishment

I’m afraid I still have nightmares about this place.
My meal was hugely dissapointing and sadly memorable.
Overcooked fish was a poor start but the desert (cheesecake) finished it off, I’m sure it came straight off an aeroplane. I very much doubt it was made in house due to the gelatanous, un flavoured, rubbery texture that is so common in long life airline food. If you need to buy in cheesecake why not pop down the road to the shop dedicated to it and give your customers a treat.

Thank god the wine was good and that there was plenty of it.

Agenda is apparently a nightclub and a restaurant. I guess the nightclubbing occurs later in the night. We got there for dinner only at 7 pm, and only diners present.

Atmosphere in restaurants is important, and I’m afraid that Agendas nightclub half makes it lack in this department. A bit sparse and I could smell the cleaning agents!

Service was very good. Food also was good. My steak was basic in its presentation, but for one or two chewy bits that ended up on the plate, was welll cooked and presented. The wife’s pork belly was really just pork, but she rated it highly. Overall the meals were OK, probably scoring around 8/10 (average of the two).

A friend (who was over from Oz) and I dined at Agenda on Thursday 29 December – early part of the evening. Wow all I can say is we both had the most delicious meals we have had for ages. Absolute compliments to the chef – she had the spicy lamb and I had the special of filet mignon. She absolutely raved about the flavour and the way it was cooked (she had asked for the lamb to be cooked more to well done which they did to perfection) and she said the meal was much better than anything she had had in restaurants in Sydney. My steak was medium rare as ordered and melted in my mouth – perfect. The waiting staff were also extremely helpful and friendly. Excellent evening. Many thanks – I’ll be back and so will friends and family I have told. Christine

Service – depends on who you get, our food staff were great and very very helpful, the drink staff.. Boy do they need some training and the main reason for only three stars.
Food – Had the pasta and it was very bland but when this was raised with the staff it was reified quickly and to our satisfaction
Restaurant – Early in the evening is is quite nice but as it get later they are trying to get you out the door so they can make this a nightclub so would suggest a early dinner here..

We came here about 10 months ago and found that it was very poor. We decided to give it another go though tonight. Again was really bad. I ordered baked salmon – has anyone ever seen this served inside tin-foil and wrapped in baking paper??? – the whole thing was bad. Served with risotto – again bad – topped with salsa whose flavour focussed on tomato paste. My partner ordered steak – ordinary with dried up roast potato things. Service was fine. The place was virtually empty – not surprising – am just amazed that it is still around.

Went to Agenda recently on a voucher deal. I was not all that happy to be told when we paid for our meals that a salad was counted as a main and the cheapest meals would be accounted for as being already paid. This isn’t written anywhere on the voucher, so was not happy that they make up their own ‘rules’, as mains and salads have separate sections on the Menu. Their staff were nice and friendly though, which made up for it.

Took Brisbane family to the restaurant after the Sunday World Cup game. The restaurant was busy and pleased we booked.

I have been to the restaurant a few times as well as others in town for lunches but not dinners as we are from a distance from Hamilton.

A nice environment, good food and back ground music, what more can you ask for?

Agenda always has friendly service and most important, great fresh tasty meals and a good variety of choices. This night some of us had 3 courses as the deserts sounded too nice to not have. We were not disappointed.

Even with being a busy night (and staff would have had an extremely busy weekend!) the service was good and even better the food was wonderful. Our Brisbane family commented on how much they enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

Two of us went to this restaurant last week. Have never been there before. The surroundings are pleasant and modern. We were warmly welcomed and seated promptly. It was a Wednesday night but there was a reasonable number of people there – almost full so might pay to book.

We read through the menu and were impressed with what we saw. We ordered the Antipasto Platter to share as an entree and our mains were the baked salmon and the scallops.

The platter was a great starter for the two of us. A generous portion. My companion only wanted water which was promptly supplied as was my generous (530 ml) beer.

The mains arrived without delay. They were fantastic. The salmon was beautifully moist with wonderful flavour and it was a good sized portion – I got to finish the bit that my companion could not manage.

As for my scallops, six extremely large scallops came perched on top of six juicy pieces of pork belly. A great combination, especially with the vegetable julienne salad with vinaigrette dressing.

By the time we had finished, we decided to skip dessert. We did see a couple nearby demolishing theirs and they looked great as well (the desserts I am referring to).

Extremely good value for money. Especially between 5-7pm when you can get a 530 ml glass of beer for $5.

All the staff were very pleasant and great at their jobs.

I have given it 4 stars – only because one likes to reserve 5 stars for something that one will probably never encounter.

Agenda – you have two fans and we will be back for sure. I can recommend this establishment with complete confidence.

Recently went to Agenda the night of the rugby 7′s. Excellent staff here. Friendly welcoming and prompt.

We ordered the scollops and very really dissapointed. They were dry and a little tasteless. We also got the seafood kebab’s, and once again dissapointed. They came out cold. Took a bite into the scollop and it was dry! Asked for it to be replaced, only to find 2 Kebabs come back, and just re-heated. By this stage there was no point in asking again.

The fish and chip basket was so cute! It actally came in a Vat basket! Fish was delicious.

Garlic Ciabatta was delicious! Nice and hot, just the right amount of butter and garlic.

Overall , it was good. But really dissapointed in the scollops :( :( and i Love scollops, well any sea food really! ( as you can tell from what we ordered!)

Recently had dinner on a Saturday evening. My husband had a delicious lamb shank that was melt in the mouth tender and I enjoyed a wonderful pork sirloin with the most divine crackling. Service was great and just the right amount on the plate to finish but not left feeling hungry. In fact we liked it so much we were back the next day with other family for a great brunch.

It was really hard to choose from the brunch menu; so many things sounded delicious, but I had the French toast with bacon, banana and maple syrup. It was really good. I was with a large-ish group and everyone was very happy with their meals. Reasonable price and service was excellent without being at all obtrusive. Coffee was great too. I’ll certainly go again.

I recently dined at Agenda and happily report a really lovely night out.

I selected the vegetarian lasagne which was accompanied by grilled garlic bread and dukka with olive oil & balsamic (fantastic!). The lasagne was very delicious. Light and fresh pasta sheets, layered between capsicums and eggplant. The napolenti sauce, likewise, was very tasty. The twist was feta cheese – not a hint of the usual gluppy cheese sauce (yah!). It was real fusion of flavours that really worked well!

The staff were nicely attentive but certainly not overbearing. A good selection of wine, beer and spirits were available.

The decor was simple and pleasant. This is a venue I will return to, and bring my family along as the menu caters well for younger diners too.

After enjoying brunch at Agenda on a number of occasions, I recently had dinner there and found it a pleasurable experience. The staff are friendly and easy going, and make you feel well looked after. They took our orders promptly, and cleared our plates quickly after we had finished eating.

The meal I had was presented on plate on a level comparable to far more upmarket and expensive Hamilton eateries, such as Palate. However, the portions at Agenda were far more generous than what I have come to expect from restaurants in Hamilton, and the meal I had was excellent value for money at $25 for a deliciously seasoned steak, vegetables and potatoes. I have been to other local restaurants which have disappointingly charged almost twice as much for similar quality steak by itself (sides must also be ordered at such places). There was plenty of variety on the menu, and I look forward to going back and trying other dishes.

The restaurant is set in tones of black and grey with red highlights, a slick modern look that is nicely complemented with cushy seats and a warm fireplace. Although the restaurant appears quite dark from the outside, it is surprisingly bright inside and the lighting has a somewhat romantic feel to it. I have found the noise levels at busy restaurants often makes it difficult to have a conversation because you end up almost shouting across the table, however, this was not a problem at Agenda. Despite the restaurant being full and music playing in the background, I did not have to raise my voice at all.

I had fantastic experience, and would thoroughly recommend Agenda to others.

Recently had a meal at agenda, and after fantastic service, a great atmosphere and equally great meal i was compelled to write a review.

I rearly have a salad when eating out however had the lamb salad at agenda and it was great. consisting of marinated lamb spinach & my person frave dried tomato & olive it was the best salad dish ive had all year. Agenda’s staff were friendly and prompt and the meal was ready in good time. Considering how busy they were at the time (almost full) i was stoked. Well done Agenda team look forward to the next meal.

I have been waiting to find a great lamb meal in Hamilton and I found it at Agenda. The lamb was succulent, boneless (!), well flavoured and cooked perfectly. I was surprised by the presentation; crispy rocket and baby carrots but they were very flavourful.
My husband had the tenderised sirloin and he enjoyed it.

Entree’s were ok, dessert was fine, friendly service. Pricing was in line with other restaurants in the CBD.
There was a live musician playing – must have been a Pearl Jam fan – but it was good background.

The only thing that let them down was the tables and seating; it looked temporary (I think they move it to make way for the dancefloor) and seemed cheap.

But otherwise great. Would definitely visit again.
