Hmmm. The vibe is great, and I LOVE st kevins arcade. I just wish alleluya would sort the food thing out-11 years I’ve been coming here cos its a cool place, not for eating delight. I’m giving it 4 stars for the coffee and the ambiance and the tables. Food- last time my fish hash was under-salted mashed potato with some flakes of what might have been a nice smoked fish if I’d had enough to really taste it. Partner’s eggs bene were standard average. It’ll never change, I know, but good on it for staying true to itself!

I love Alleluya – it’s the perfect place to while away an afternoon with a book, and St Kevin’s Arcade is a lovely spot. The coffee is always great, and the service friendly. While I’ve found the food off the menu fairly average, some of the cakes are utterly divine. Watch out for the basboosa (not always available, sadly) – a rose and lemon flavoured semolina cake – which is just amazing with a dollop of yoghurt on the side. YUM!

Top marks for atmosphere. The food didn’t jump out at me but the vibes and decor more than made up for it. Felt like a place I could spend a whole afternoon with a book, and not at all like somewhere in the busy centre of a city.

Best coffee we’ve had since returning to NZ a couple of months ago – we drink a lot of coffee so big ups there! Service was good but our actual breakfast (smoked fish hash) left a lot to be desired…there’s really nothing pleasant to say about it. Would definitely come back for coffee but would think twice about ordering food here again.

Great place. Loved the decor and the food was really good. It was my first time there but won’t be my last.

This place is always amazing. The coffee is always perfect and the eggs benedict is great. Their cabinet stuff is also quite amazing. Really neat surroundings and they always play good music. Two thumbs up.
