Angus cafe food pretty average, coffee was good, service could be better , no real ambience due too the size of the place and miss matching light fittings.

Went there a few times to have dessert and lunch and it was divine! We’ve tried the blackforrest and cheese cake, both of which are delicious. The chicken burger on the other hand is good but nothing special about it. They are slightly expensive but the desserts in my opinion is definitely worth it.

I have eaten here many times and always find it great. The food is always good and those cakes are to die for. I have always found the staff very pleasant and friendly and they sure work for their money. They are always busy over lunch but the wait is never overly long. Very impressed.

Went the other week. Ordered the Fish and Chips and the Big Breakfast. I am a fully qualified chef and the food was the right flavour, temp and was seasoned accordingly. Will returning here again.

If you are after coffee and cake – great!
If you want to eat a meal – maybe think about going elsewhere. We ordered the Mushroom, Potato and Egg; the egg was VERY undercooked, the hollandaise (if you can call it that) was awful and almost bitter, and the potato and chive cakes were lifeless, tasteless and stodgy. The spinach was also well overcooked, and not wilted as the menu promised. Overall, undercooked, underseasoned and not all that pleasant.
Upside: Free range eggs, service at the counter was pleasant but the waitresses seem to have a knack for not seeing the number of your table even when they walk past it a few times.
Downside: everything else.

Fantastic lunch here today. We arrived approx 1.30pm and the place was was buzzing. We managed to grab a table after ordering and coffee’s arrived 5 minutes later and warm food and cakes approx 10 mins later.
Prices are reasonable and the food is fresh, attractive and presented really well. To the member below who was complaining about the lack of Banoffee pie – there were 2 large pies in the chiller!.
Staff were friendly and polite, food was great and decor is lovely. We will be back next week for brunch:)

Am very disappointed with Angus Cafe and Desserts. They have my favourite food which is there Banoffee pie. However whenever I visit their restaurant they never have any available. Very disappointing. Have made 6 trips just to pick up a piece of their Banoffee pie and have been told each time they dont have any. One time I even paid for 4 pieces for me and my family then for a waitress to come over to the table where we were waiting that there was none left. We were told to choose other pieces of cake, however we specifically went there for the Bannoffee pie. We demanded a refund and left unsatisfied.
I have also visited there restaurant 15 minutes before closing and they have said that I could not purchase anything even if it was takeaway as they had closed the till and were closing.
Very disappointed angus cafe and desserts.
The service is also very undesirable.
If I did not like the Banoffee pie so much I would not return!

Had french toast with bacon and banana. Strangely the bacon had flecks of green on it (maybe parsley??) but the meal over all was nice and plentiful.
Would have given higher rating if not for one of the waitresses coming to our table to take away one plate that was finished before the other person had finished their meal. It wasn’t like the place was full and they were waiting for a tables to free up, and so it came off rude and unhospitable.

A couple of weeks ago i went to the new Angus Dessert and cafe located on george st opposite meridian. Although me and my partner went in before closing we were made to have our meals taken away and yet we wanted to enjoy our meals in the beautiful new building. I was shocked by the professionalism of the male servant at the time as he told his staff that i had to take my meal away and eat it. I declined to his recomendation and my partner and i decided to eat at a table. Just as we ate the male staff turned the lights down at our table in the hope that we will leave. I found this very disturbing although my meal was delightful. I found the male staff member to be very rude not only to me but the other customers who walked in to grab a meal. I would have thought this young gentlemen would have at least been a bit more caring very disappointed at this young fellow. I enjoyed everything Angus had to offer except for this rude, arrogant young man.
