Arizona is always a good place to dine, simple food, burgers, Mexican theme. Good with families or for a simple bite or drink.

Update – October 2011 – they have started charging a credit card surcharge, and price increase .. its turned it from a simple but good / price right place to overpriced.
Wont be returning soon.

We were very disappointed at Arizona. Like most of Wellington’s cuisine, it is generic American, pretending to be ‘hip and edgy’. We ordered the ‘Wellington On A Plate’ burgers. After 25 minutes, and after two neighbouring tables who ordered after us had received and almost finished their meal, we politely asked the waitperson to check. She gave us a civil, but disinterested, “they’re on their way”, without checking.

The meal did eventually arrive. The burgers were a generous size, and would be good if they turned up in your local burger bar, but were nothing special at this price. The accompanying fries were not properly cooked through – inedible.

When we paid, we were asked the standard ‘was everything OK?’ When we explained why it was not OK, we received no apology or offer to remedy it with a discount.

If you want the real Wellington/American experience, just go to McDonalds where it is cheaper and they are not pretending to be something they are not.

A friend & I stopped there for lunch on a Sunday after visiting the Kirks’ sale. All the tables were dirty, and we had to ask a passing waiter to wipe ours. Looked to be plenty of staff on for the few patrons but still took almost 1/2 an hour before we were served. When our food arrived after another long wait and further request to passing waitress to check if it was ready (Cajun pasta for my friend, F&C for me) we were so hungry that we were halfway through our meals before we noticed the burnt pasta & smelly fish. The salad served with my fish also looked off – brown wilted lettuce and a shriveled lemon wedge. We complained to the manager but she was very dismissive, and told me that the lemon was meant to look that way! Even though we didn’t finish our meals, we still had to pay for the disgusting food. We will NEVER eat there again.
