Hi Hanna, we are sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your first visit at Armazem, usually when we have enough tables available, we let costumers choose a table where they feel more comfortable instead of us telling them where to sit. The sliced side bread that comes with chicken hearts tapas and in a few other appetiser and tapas, is the traditional white French sticks or baguette, which is the most popular bread in Brazil, used as everyday bread and as a side in many dishes, in your chicken hearts dish, the bread it’s not intended to be had with butter or spread like we have in our kiwi breakfast, it’s more intended for dip and bread appetiser, entree style experience, mixing and dipping with the sweet chille sauce, farofa and chicken hearts themselves. I’m sorry we failed to explain this to you while you were there. With your Beef Parmeggiana main dish, it’s a very traditional Italian/Brazilian dish, the crumbed beef schnitzel is topped with a rich homemade tomato basil sauce which takes us many hours to make and mozzarella on top of all. I can guarantee the sauce is not from the tin, like you were suggesting. The Parmeggiana is been a very popular dish with kiwis and everyone else, it’s one of only a few dishes that never left the menu in any season due to its popularity and tradition, I’m sorry it wasn’t for your taste, the fish is locally sourced and as fresh as you can get buying, Head chef personally goes to the local fresh fish market to select his own fish, the fish is pan fried and served with the potato mayo salad, it might be unusual for some people but the potato mayo salad must be served cold, that’s the recipe and how we have in Brazil, it’s not as nice natural or warm. Most people just love it and it’s also served in other dishes! I’m also surprised to hear about your chocolate cheesecake base, that desert also has very good feedback, it’s been on the menu for the second season, I will investigate why the base in your cheesecake, sounds like it was harder than usual. The overwhelming majority of feedback we get, is that we are very good impressing our customers with our food and specially service, I’m not sure what is your impression of Brazilian food or the experience you already had with it. when you quoted “don’t get how it’s “Brazilian” ” You can’t get a more traditional Brazilian restaurant, covering dishes of more different culinary regions in Brazil than Armazem in New Zealand, but I must admit we are humans and might not have delivered you the same level of service that we are usual to, specially when it sounds like we could have done a better job, offering a more friendly service, offering to explain the dishes better and making sure where you were happy with what you were having, I apologise for that and I will act on the points you raised. Hi there, we are sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your experience at Armazem, We do change the menu every 6 months, however The PF dish you had, is the most traditional Brazilian dish and has never left the menu since we open the restaurant, the bacon is only used in tiny bits on the seasoning of farofa and beans, we also have garlic, coriander, onions and many other ingredients in our seasoning that are not described, because no matter how you have your PF with chicken, fish or beef, it would never be a vegetarian dish in anyway, so we didn’t feel the need to point out the bits of bacon or write every ingredients of the seasoning in the description, otherwise the dish description would be too long and boring. There are some dishes that we point out in the description, we can serve them as Vegetarian or Gluten Free without certain ingredients of the complete dish but it’s not the case on the PF.

The Frango Tropicalia dish your friend had, comes with potato mayo salad, which is served cold, that’s how is supposed to be. Frango Tropicalia is very popular dish and it’s the 3rd season it’s been in our menu due to its popularity. On the feedback below by John R. him and his partner they seem to have shared enjoyed a lot their Troplicalia Chicken dish.
