If you enjoy REAL indian food, not the “plastic stuff” you’re used to at the food halls in the malls, then this is the place to eat.
Although not an Indian, I grew up with Indian food having lived in a city with over a million Indians. I reckon I’m in a reasonable position to be able to compare.
You will not find better in Auckland.

quite a bit more expensive than other indian restaurants around so thought the food might be better, i was wrong my curry tasted to sweet and weird not like any other curry i have had and it had frozen vegtables in it i thought for the price they would have used fresh ones dissapointing.

Did not enjoy our curries when we visited. They are expensive compared to other Indians restaurants and definitely not worth the money.
Unfortunately the Dhal Makani which we ordered tasted as if it had come out of a tin,and $22.50 for the prawn curry was not good either.
The staff were nice.

Phenomenal, intimate, genuine, friendly. High quality ingredients and attention to detail. Affordable, generous, and approachable for everyone. I have eaten Indian food all around the world, have never had any better than here for overall appeal.

Aroma is ”The Best” Indian food i have ever tasted, we have visited many restaurants both in NZ and UK and none match up to Aroma, the service is good and the portions are very substantial, you can also order Takeaway if you wish.
I think the owner is also the Chef who is an amazing cook – definitely worth a visit.
