This is one of my favorite restaurants in Wellington. The people are so lovely and the food is gorgeous. I especially like the atmosphere of the place.

The staff seem so happy to be there and really pleasant! The food is good old fashioned meals. It is really reasonably priced and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Seldom have we been to a restaurant and had a flawless meal. The meals are old school, the kind of meals you wouldn’t be surprised to have served up in the kiwi home of old on a Sunday night…. But… Somehow… Better. Served on old plates and in wonderful warm surrounds, we cannot fault our experience. I highly recommend the beef and Guinness pot pie and the clean plate of my partner attests to the same for the steak. We will definitely be back.

I think the best thing about arthurs is that the types of meals they serve are ones you grew up on, and as such you tend to romanticize the quality past what it was.
Arthurs however serve these meals to such a standard that they are better than the romanticized versions you have.
Amazing atmosphere, friendly service, great food – an amazing evening.

We came here last Thursday for dinner with friends and enjoyed our time and dining immensely.
The style of food and interior go very well together. The experience is kind of like you’ve gone to have dinner at a really nice antique collector’s house, who turns out to be an amazing chef – all the while several other tables of people you don’t know surround you having the same surreal experience. My friend could not get over that fact that his seat uniquely had both the same plate and place-mat as his family home did when he was growing up.

Between us we demolished the 2 generous portions of pork crackling we shared as starters. For mains – I had the steak medium rare – which was cooked perfectly and served with salad and fried potatoes. The others had the fish of the day x2 and the roast of the day – Pork in this case. The portions were home-style, that being on the larger side of the restaurant norm.
Although we were stuffed, we had dessert anyway – my smashed berries, home-made ice-cream and hot chocolate sauce did not disappoint.

Everyone drunk wine, but as a craft beer drinker, Moa beer was on offer for me – I enjoyed a Pale Ale and also indulged in an Imperial Stout. Both were in top-notch condition and complimented my meal perfectly. I hope to see Tuatara beer join the ranks soon.

Congrats on opening a fantastic restaurant and cafe – will be in soon on the next nice day to hit your brunch menu and courtyard!

The place is really cool, their plates and glasses feel like something you would find at your grandmothers, which helps create an incredibly relaxing and welcoming environment.

I had the eggs Benedict and a hot chocolate, which was pretty good, although the Benedict sauce could have been more robust.

If your looking for a place to eat and chill this is it. Really friendly staff in a great environment.

first visit for my wife & I on Saturday 3rd March. Thought the decor and ambiance is fantastic. Staff was lovely and service sharp and friendly.

Brilliant choices on the menue and as we were only seeking snacks my wife had the pork scratchings and I had the fried potatoes. Both were first rate and excellent sized portions.

We both like strong coffee that you can really taste and the two flat whites were excellent too.

We will certainly call again and will recommend it to our friends.

Good on you Arthur’s you have a lovely establishment, friendly staff, and lovely decor.

Your food is really good too the big breakfast really is a big breakfast, the bubble and squeak is the best in Wellington.
The Pate is yum, the pork crackling is divine, and the fish fingers are a must. Good coffee too, with perculated available and a good selection of teas.

Will have many more meals at Arthur’s.

Thank you
