One of the worst dining experience. We went to the restaurant as a flat (5 people) and each ordered a meal. Everyone else’s food came 25-30 minutes later but i had to wait for 90 minutes during which i ask the waiter several times about it. I ordered the salty fish tofu pot and it was incredibly bland. I dug in and found nothing but tofu, undercooked carrots and some cabbage. Very disappointing. The rice was obviously really old, cold and disgusting (Ironically, its an asian restaurant). I told the waiter that my food was bland and it lacked the salty fish that was promised on the menu. How he replied surprised us all – “just keep eating and it will be in there” in a very angry tone. Hearing that, i decided to present everything in the pot on my plate and told the same waiter to come back again. He said it was not his problem and walked away before i could say anything. The asian manager/owner was worse, she yelled at me when i told her about the rude staff and the bland food. Never going back there again.

We visited Dunedin and dined at Asian Restaurant based on the reviews with my sister and her husband from Malaysia. We ended up having 2 dinners and a lunch at the same restaurant. Authentic Chinese cooking, good portions at a great price. Most of the diners were non Asian and it pays to book to ensure a table. The service was great and the owner was lovely. We collected some cockle from the Otago Peninsular and was cooked free of charge!!! Being an accountant I think they could easily increase their prices by at least 20%.

An excellent variety of asian foods. Staff are extremely courteous. My partner and I frequent the Asian, particularly for the wonton soup which is sooooooo good

Every time I go there I really enjoy my meal. The staff are so friendly and very obliging. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Great variety too, and so delicious. As soon as my friends say where do you want to meet, I say Asian. It is also very accessible, especially if you going to the movies or a show.

We just had food delivered. It was cold and disappointing. The won tons were OK, The sweet and sour pork was average. The beef satay with broccoli was inedible. The satay sauce was not at all satay flavoured, just brown and nasty. The beef was so awful I spat it out. The rice cost extra. All of the food was cold.

we just ordered 3 meals delivery from here. The sweet and sour pork was a whole lot of mediocre tasting bits of pork in one container and some cold, pretty gross, sweet and sour sauce in another pottle. No veges at all. No rice.
The satay beef on broccoli was inedible; the satay sauce looked like duck poo (sorry but it did) and when we tasted it, it wasn’t much better. we threw it out.
The sweet and sour wontons: the wontons were alright but once again no rice or veges, just the cold sweet and sour sauce.
All up that cost $38 including $3 for delivery.
So won’t be eating Asian Restaurant food again.

Went there for a work do last week. Some of the yummiest chinese food I’ve ever had, and heaps of it. Super cheap, best sweet and sour pork ever, fast and friendly service. Can’t wait to go back!!

We remember this restaurant fondly. Our daughter who was at Uni always took us there. We were happy to pick up the bill. Excellent experience.

A great place to go for lunch. The cheapest meals in town, with huge selection and good meal size. I will go back many times
