just brilliant! Laksa is awesome, staff are friendly. Every time I visit Wellington it is a must stop.

Forget what the place looks like inside and outside, just concentrate on the food and its preparation and taste!
If you want a fancy environment, then please go somewhere else, as this cafe serves outstanding food at really value for money prices… and the staff are quite lovely.
I’m not a vegetarian but my wife is and it’s the sort of place where the food is so good, meat eaters seem to forget there is no meat in their dishes!
They do have mock meat dishes on offer for those who need to feel they are getting their meaty fix for the day but go there expecting great food, regardless of meat content and you’ll thoroughly enjoy it!
It’s great to see that they also cater for vegans, who do have a hard time eating out in Wellington.

I have to disagree with the poster who said that Aunty Mena’s is dirty. It is definitely NOT dirty! Like many inexpensive asian restaurants, it has a stark interior with very little in the way of ornaments and decoration. This place is a vegan delight. They have a wonderful selection of chinese and malaysian inspired dishes. Of note – the vege balls with dipping sauce, mock chicken drumsticks, gado gado, roti chanai with tofu & vegetables. I also thoroughly enjoy the wonton noodle soup and fried rice with pineapple. Delicious!

Amazing food and relaxed atmosphere. Truly a delight. I have sampled many dishes ata this establishment and each new concoction surpasses its predecessor. Lovely Roti especially, the best in Wellington.

Great Malaysian Chinese vegetarian & vegan varieties here!
A favourite with us — there is always something to try by the season – soups, fried noodles, snacks..best of all everything is prepared in a completely vegetarian atmosphere. Food is not spicy here. They even omit mushrooms if you tell them too.
Would recommend vegetarians & vegans here anytime!

I’ve been to this restaurant at least ten times and have never been unimpressed. The food is amazing. The staff are friendly. The establishment is clean. There is a HUGE variety – most menu items are vegan.
Highly recommend the soya curry, deep fried vege balls and chow mee! Though whatever you order, you won’t be disappointed.

A big fan of Aunty Mena’s. We’ve been there several times over the last 6 months and the food is consistently good. Service is fantastic and the menu is very extensive – all vege of course
The only drawback is the actual restaurant – it’s not fancy but it always seems clean and provided you aren’t fussy about the setting, you’ll be sure to have a great meal here.
The Laksa is a must!!!!
And it’s really cheap. We usually average between $40 and $50 for two of us if we get 3 entrees, two mains and a couple of drinks. But you can easily find a main for under $15 which will fill you right up.

Superb Food.
Tasty, reasonably priced. Reasonable portion size. I am a big(ger) eater.
Good service.
I am a Fussy lacto – ovo vegetarian, so would definately go there again.
Toilet could have been cleaned better.
yes, place looks run down, as much as i would love to, i could’t recommend it for a group dine out.
Food = 5 stars
Price = 3 stars
setting = 1 star

Fairly priced cheaply and everything is vegetarian.
The food is really good and the roti channai is amazing. Its not too oily as I have found that Satay Kingdom and Satay Palace’s are.
There is also other foods like mock chicken, wontons, deep fried vegeballs available.
Place looks a bit dirty (run down) and I wouldn’t of gone in if my friends did not convince me that the food was good.
