We have been to Bacchus at least 4 times in the past few years, whenever we were visiting Blenheim, and it is our favourite restaurant in the whole Nelson and Marlborough region. The meals have always been delicious and the service has always been great. The cosy atmosphere is lovely too and I can highly recommend it to anyone visiting Blenheim.

We were on holidays from Australia over Easter and went to Bacchus on our first night in Blenheim. It was fantastic! Exceptional service, friendly helfpul staff, beautiful food, great atmosphere and I could go on and on. It was so good we went back for dinner again the night before we left to come home and it was just as good as the first night. I would recommend everybody visiting Blenheim should have a meal here. The rice balls are to die for!

The service & atmosphere was fairly good but the food was not so good. I had fresh butterfish, which I sent back as it was overcooked. The second dish was much the same and I didnt finish my meal. Slightly dissapointing as I was taking my girlfriend out for a nice meal.
I am submitting this review because my wife and I eat out regularly, we host many visitors and Marlborough needs more good quality restaurants. We looked forward to dining at Bacchus because of the change of ownership but the experience was disappointing. The service (apart from one waitress being clad in a kitchen apron)was very good but one of our mains (the fish) was so bad that it was left 1/4 eaten, the vegetables were very poor, the wine list for Marlborough was possibly the worst we have seen and finally and probably most significantly, the room temperature was so low it seriously detracted from our enjoyment of the occasion. I know that it is early days for the new proprietors and I wish you every success in your business. We look forward to returning once the teething problems have been rectified. If it would be of any help I would be prepared to comment on our experience in person.
Our table of 4 increased to 5, then to 6, then 1 person got called away and the other was late. The young waiting staff where really accommodating, nothing seemed to faze them. We all got our meals together, the food was delicous. Thanks for making it happen

I have been to Bacchus a couple of times and cannot rate it highly enough. The service is quiet and fast, atmosphere great and the food devine! The steak dish is melt in your mouth and I loved the chocolate threesome! Just scrummy, a really enjoyable experience and a must if you are in Blenheim.
