If your looking for cleanliness, maybe don’t arrive at this restauarant at 5.30 on a Tuesday evening, the tables where dirty and there was even a chair laying on its side in the restauarant, the staff where cheerful and helpful, but seemed untrained. I ordered the blackboard special, steak egg chips and beer (the beer was included) $20 and my partner ordered a pizza, which was about $19, well I have the bill on my visa card and it came to $68.64.
go figure folks

First time to be here and they have good food and drinks, just right with the price.

The only negative thing that I would say is the location of “stage” or area where the band is performing. Definitely you can hear the band from the back of the room we were sitting on the booths in front of the bar, but, it would be nicer if we could also see them.

A couple of friends and I are on holiday here from the Gold Coast and we came to eat at the Backyard on Saturday night.
A friend of ours recommended it to us after having the Scorpion Fish not so long ago, so we decided to come try it out for ourselves. AMAZING! Very lovely dish, cooked to perfection.
The service here is excellent and very “hospitable.”
Should we be returning to New Zealand in the near future we will most definitely be returning. Well done to the Backyard team. Keep it up.

Having eaten here a few times, it has always been a great experience, the food is excellent with the option of a full service restaurant or bar food and staff friendly and attentive. Thanks
