The Barrel house is a classy quaint little restaurant, tucked away down a side street in the middle of Dannevirke. It prides itself on fresh food. Excellent main course, the steak meal is to die for. This little gem in Dannevirke takes one back to the early settler days with decorations on the wall of the old days and the back wall has a fantastic painting of the old logging days. The food is a bit pricey, soup was the worst I’ve ever had, good for small venues, good place to bring a loved one to impress. Wouldn’t recommend for a large venue as it gets very crowded (7+)
