I couldn’t fault the food or service. A very comprehensive wine list and range of cocktails! The staff coped very well even thought it was busy. We had the garlic bread and olives to start, followed by a melt in the mouth steak, cooked perfectly as ordered. The jus was rich and very tasty and the potatoes delicious. A little bit of fresh veg might have been a nice addition? However, I’m only disappointed that I was so full I couldn’t fit in one of their (I’m sure) delicious desserts. A hidden gem!

Here is a restaurant with a chef rather than a cook. Interesting favour combinations that take the food to the next level. Cool decor and great service, does it get any better? Most Auckland restaurants would struggle to be half as good. Ali Mau of Breakfast and Fair Go fame apparently loves the place judging by her comment on the wall. Need I say more…

Dined there for the first time as we stumbled upon it by chance. This is by far the best place in Waipu. The chef obviously takes great pride in the food he is sending out because our meals were fantastic. I will come back here for sure.

Food n service excellent. I’ve been here many times and would say this place is as good as anywhere between Auckland n Russel. Good variety on the menu & a good wine list.

I have been dining at The Beach House Restaurant on and off for the past 2 years and have always been extremely impressed by both the quality of food and the service provided. My last visit was on a busy winters Saturday night with a good crowd in both the restaurant and the new sports bar upstairs. My table shared some divine Calamari and freshly baked bread and dips to start followed by a selection of their fabulous Pizza’s ( much better than the Pizza Barn, I must say!)We finished off with the Local Organic Lemon dessert which was highly recommended by the hostess and were blown away by the exquisite presentation and explosion of flavours!!
I was really disappointed to see such a bad review given to The Beach House by the person below, particularly when aimed at the staff who have always gone out of their way to make my own experience in the restaurant a pleasant one, especially over the busy summer months. I’m almost left wondering if this person is having a personal attack at the owners rather than the restaurant itself!

Ate at the Beach house last night and had an awesome time there with my wife. The lady behind the bar was very knowledgeable and helped my wife to choose what to eat when she couldn’t decide!

For starters we had the calamari and the Waldorf salad, YUM! Mains we had the crayfish ravioli and the pork belly. Last but definitely not least we shared the lemons, lemons, lemons dessert which was a perfect combination between sweet and sour, and soft and crunchy.

All in all we had an excellent time and will definitely be back in the near future.

In my view, shocking service from the hostess Theresa (apparently the owner). The food was mostly good (with the exception of one of the dishes we ordered), but nothing could compensate for how poorly we were treated. Personally insulted when we dared to mention while paying that one of the dishes was not as good at the rest. Would never dine there again as we prefer good food PLUS good service – something that this does place does not offer in my view!

Went for a friend’s birthday and we were all really impressed with the interesting, exciting menu and the great presentation. Definately worth the drive.

Superb food in a stunning place. I had the smoked cheddar souffle to start followed by the surf n turf – which was divine. I finished with the pavlova which was seriously good, best I’ve had in fact. My husband went for the crispy duck salad, which I tasted too, excellent, not to salty or too crispy. For his main he had the pork belly – very succulent. Finished with port and cheese, as he doesn’t have a sweet tooth. Tasty port and an excellent selection of cheeses, most of which I ate!! Great decor and a nice ambiance, staff knew their wines too. Will definitely go back and definitely recommend.
