Loved it. The staff were super friendly. Shared an entree of Grilled ciabatta bread which was a lovely way to fill the time until mains, Had the Garlic and Prawn Fettuccine was super filling, good sized serving and delicious. Baked cheesecake with black-cherry topping for dessert was lovely, not too rich but still flavoursome, Even had a pot of tea after dinner. Had a lovely night and would definitely love to go there again

We had two meals when we did our Cape Reinga road trip 2011 just loved it the meals wine and staff were amazing. We had a beautiful Trinity Hill red wine when we there and are going to visit Hawkes Bay soon and would like to know what Trinity Hill wines Beachcomber sells

Visited for dinner last night. Beautiful fat fresh oysters, lovely scallops, perfectly cooked venison and lamb rump, great selection of fresh salads and nice friendly staff. No complaints and would definitely visit again.

Visited for lunch today. Very average service and my chicken schnitzel arrived overdone and slightly burned. Was not impressed. Disappointed and will try Bushmans Hut next time we want to go out.

went here as had a very memorable meal here some years ago. Meal itself very good. Service just average. Dining experience somewhat spoiled by very loud discussion beween a restaurant representative and a group of diners. The restaurant rep’s (we are unsure of her title – not a server) voice was unacceptably loud and overbearing compared with the diners quiet acceptance of the misunderstanding. the “discussion” was unprofessional and should have been handled better. However that said the venison and fish meals we had were lovely and the specialty coffees very good.

Enjoyed a very nice meal with a fellow traveller. The free salad bar was fresh too. Nice house wine and suitable beach style decor.

The staff were very friendly and pleasant, even though we were the last to leave though chatting and finishing our wine.

I had a wonderful meal at this restaurant the other night, my wife took me out for dinner and I had a wonderful steak. Probably the best I have ever eaten! The service was great and the wine list is very comprehensive and well priced. This is a great place to eat! Well done Bachcomber!

i am going tomorow since i’m down from england for the week and me sister says its to die for.

the beachcomber is good, i would say the waitresses were freindly. interesting toilets to! the only problem is the salad bar being uncovered all day. i have seen more than a few flies having their fair share of that salad too unfortunately

Well most of us locals say the beachcomber is the place t go , as to the above review, cramped? its not cramped, Have you dined in Auckland? the salad bar is its best assert!! and the waitresses are lovely friendly girls, my personal Dave is the bar looks fantastic after the recent reno and refurb, so without a doubt if looking for a place to dine, the beachcomber is the only place to go!!
