If you thought the big kahuna bar was bad when the young owners had it you should see it now. Young adults (of age) can’t even get served a glass of water let alone an alcoholic beverage without a “up yourself” look on the person behind the bars face. My opinion, don’t even bother looking into going to this place, it’s just not worth spending hard earned dollars.
its a shame kaitaia doesnt have choices because if there were, kahuna would be the last. its a small dive where you get charged a range of prices for the same drink, the dj must have two cds in his collection, and theres topless girls on a ladies night out. are you trying to make me gay? why not have a lele night as well, if they want to cater to everyone? the bouncer was on p (not sure if he still is) and threatens people, has favourites that he allows in if they’re wearing a hat (or other reasons), but someone he doesnt like has to take the hat off without exception. I know for a fact underage people are let into the kahuna regularly. They order their pumpkin soup and butter chicken from cavaliers but try to make out like its their own secret recipe as well. i could keep on writing till kingdom come but i think thats enough.

Well obviously the girl below dropped out of school early!! Its a shame to say that the kahuna is the only near descent place to go to in this little town, its is shabby the foods and coffee is ok, everyone has different standards if you don’t enjoy hanging out in a dump with a half undesirables then i suggest you should stay at home.
I would like to write this review in response to the Big Kahuna. A few years back this place was a place you could go and have a quite drink and lunch. Now it is owned by kids who hire people to bash patrons in the early hours of the morning. This place seriously needs to come to terms with what kind of customers they are letting through there doors. I know for sure that they are letting underage people into this premises.
