My boyfriend and I went here on the weekend and he ordered the Caesar Salad (don’t bother). It cost $21.00 with Bacon and all we received was 3 bits of streakey bacon, barely any parmesan, loads of Cos Lettuce and loads of Croutons and that was pretty much it. No Egg !!! a smidgen of Anchovies (5). The food itself would be worth $3.00 and that’s being nice, so does that mean I’m paying $18.00 in overheads. No thanks.

We came here for lunch a few weeks ago and ordered the seafood platter. The food was terrible, absolutely tasteless and overcooked. Probably the worst seafood I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The service was equally as bad, plates didn’t get cleared for over half an hour even though we had packed everything together and put it to one side and no one bothered to check on us even though the place was virtually empty. Other tables hadn’t been cleared either and birds were having a field day on the left overs. Definitely will not be coming back or recommending.

We went down to the Fish Market a couple of week ago and stumbled upon big picture wine.

We have the Big Picture Platter $60, they say for 2 but it could easily do 3 or 4. It was lovely and fresh, snapper, mussels, prawns, scampi and squid with lots of salad. Very healthy.

We enjoyed our visit, the staff were friendly and smiley and the wine was pretty good too!

Would return! Plus they have live music and a sandpit for the kids!

The look from the barman, who glared at me because I perused the menu while he was filling tasters for a ‘wine tasting experience’ said it all, I should have walked straight back out.

I cannot believe what rubbish the Big Picture Wine menu and service was.
The “seafood selection” Barbequed Scampi, fresh fish, salmon fillet, lemon and parsley butter sounded lovely.
Sounded great, but when it was delivered by the waitress who NEEDED either a bath or some deodorant, was totally dissapointing: the ‘Scampi’ was actually a frozen prawn kebab from Bidvest or Gilmours, the fresh fish was a dry old piece of terakihi (tasted frozen, but not sure because there was so much dirty pan (yes pan not BBQ) black flecs covering the fish, salmon and skewer.
NO parsley lemon butter, and when I asked for some, I was brought some melted butter with dried parsley sprinkled on top.
We will never go to The big picture again.
