Not overly comfortable giving crticism but very unimpressed today with lunch and service given. Order was taken in a somewhat rushed manner, felt like a nuisance being there to be honest. I had lambs fry and bacon which is quite simple to cook I would have thought. Bacon was black, burnt to a crisp, lambs fry very dry. Mash was seeping with oil which should have been slightly drissled around the plate, not poured on like a gravy. When asked if I enjoyed meal I voiced my opinion in a very polite way and the owner just walked away totally ignoring my comments. Incredibily disappointed unfortunately which is a shame!

UPDATE:
After writing my original review I was contacted by owner and offered an apology along with voucher. It seems they were stuck in the postion of actually being shut whilst preparing for a function that night and had left the door open with sign up and we walked in. Instead of turning us away they decided to take our order and hence the possible lack of service. I thank them for the prompt reply

We contacted Kay via messaging as soon as we read this review and offered our sincere apologies. We explained why we appeared rushed – we were preparing to cater a wedding that day on the premises and weren’t actually open when they came in but accommodated them…    More »

Dropped in here last Sunday for lunch on the way back to Wellington. Exceptionally good service, excellent food and good prices.

This is the first place I have been to in years that serves a decent pizza. None of the Wellington style transparent toppings here – the pizza I had was well cooked and had a very good covering of quality toppings.

This place is worth going out of your way to visit.

Drove out from Palmy and came across this place by accident. We were delighted and a little surprised that Pahiatua has such a great restaurant (with not-at-Wellington prices)!

Had primo meals (Angus Prime / Blackpudding mmm).
Affagado with amaretto to die for…

All aspects of this restaurant are superb.
A small town like Pahiatua should be very appreciative of what it offers and up skill themselves in what good food is all about.
