First timer to Blossoms and was very nice, nice size portion I got and fresh ingredients used, staff weren’t all that friendly but scenery made up for it, got to sit in the sun outside and they did have high chairs (bonus)
Likely to return in future .:-)

We have just arrived home from our regular weekly lunch at Blossoms. Food was lovely, cake was divine, Latte great. Everything so fresh . The service was very good, The price right, and the folk friendly and hospitable. Keep up the good work girls. Our friends and we, love the place and will keep comming back as long as you are there and the quality stays the same.

We go to Blossoms at least twice a week and have been enjoying its fresh and innovatve food for over 10 years. The best coffee in Auckland (Allpress) …the all day breakfast is always a great meal, and they do proper poached eggs … Yolk lightly cooked and the white’s set, not hard and not reeking with an after-taste of vinegar like some places. The staff are friendly and cheery. I know that the cakes, slices and sandwiches are always fresh and made fresh every day.
Haven’t been to Blossoms for ages – never again. The coffee was weak and luke warm and my earl grey tea was a tea bag!!! when i pay $4 for a cup of tea I expect tea leaves – pick your game up Blossoms or you wont have any customers

Took my wife to Blossoms for a surprise birthday lunch. I used to live nearby when it first opened in around 1997 and left Auckland in 1999 – this is the 3rd visit back since moving up from CHCH.
The location is second to none but the food is second or third rate – we arrived at 2.30 and it was like the cow atthe counter was being inconvenienced. We proceeded to order and my wife got snapper and chips and I got a piece of cake – I asked for cream but that was all too difficult and I had to have custard or nothing. My wife had her meal but said it was very fatty and not very nice – it obviously wasn’t as she threw it up on the way to the airport later that day.
Apart from the food needing to improve they need a person to front the business and welcome customers etc. Next time I will give the old witch at the counter a mouthful of my displeasure if she treats us the same way.
My advice – don’t go there and go the the Riverhead Tavern – a beautiful spot and great food.

Wow…. What a huge change!!
Used to be a local and visited Blossoms several times a week for coffee and something from the huge selection of ever changing yummies from the counter. Had a lovely friendly lady on the till, Izzie was her name if i recall. Moved away but have recently moved back to the area and went in for the first time a couple of weekends ago.
Counter food looks below average as was the seemingly dry looking cakes inside the cabinet. No organisation as waited some time at the till before someone decided to serve me. I ordered a coffee (which i decided to take away due to the fact i wasnt feeling inspired to stay) and a muffin, and my partner also had a coffee and scone. Coffee was below average, appears the unskilled coffee maker burnt the milk as it was extremely hot and had no body. The baking was by no means what i remembered blossoms to be famous for and i can understand why the place was nearly empty. When we used to come you often had to line up for a table and wait. Such a shame as this was without a doubt one of the best cafes in New Zealand back in the day.
Perhaps the current owners could give the place a lick of paint, a friendly smile and keep an eye on the quality of food they sell. Wont be back.

Visited Blossoms cafe for my Birthday. Delicious fish and chips, creamy and chunky seafood chowder. Would love to go back there to try out the breakfast menu.
Nice outlook of the orchard with apple trees and heaps of friendly chickens.

After moving to the area this year I am on a mission to find my new local. Arrived at this cute little cafe with no expectations. Ordered food for family no problem, coffee great, service friendly. Unfortunately on arrival of our meals I had misordered my wife’s meal – (vegetarian) but ended up with a plate full of sausages and bacon – not a good idea, however when I fessed up to the staff about our issue, the meal was promptly removed and replaced with the correct order, at no charge! Great job guys and thank you (I would have been willing to pay for my mistake). Be sure we will be back to repay your good faith!

I’m pleased to see I’m not the only one that has had a bad experience-I thought maybe it was just me!I used to go there regularly but won’t anymore. Yesterday(26.2.11)we placed our orders and received a very average poached eggs on toast, bread was as dry as an old board. I decided just before the food arrived to order a BOWL of chips. My chips arrived on the side of the poached eggs? There were about 10 chips (wow) most of which were inedible. Asked the waitress if that was supposed to be my bowl of chips and she said “oh yes..I think so”..offerred no explaination or apology??!! Grrr.Customer service..what customer service!!
I have been here 3 times over the last 6 years and yes, it has changed since the new owners took over. I love the atmosphere, looking out to the ducks, chooks, orchard, which kids & adults love. The selection used to be just awesome & decadent, a real draw-card. Now the menu is bland. I couldn’t decide so I just got the all-day brekky. That was after waiting about half an hour & nearly leaving, only to see a staff member who knew we were there & we asked HIM is it table service, he motioned to go to the counter. there was no-one else in the place. Coffee average, took a long time & the second cup was not up to scratch. Love the location but they need to lift their act & overhaul the menu & the staff. So disappointing when it used to be so much better.

My friend and I meet monthly at Blossoms. Over recent months we have asked each other why we keep going back. This question is generally prompted by the demeanour of the woman who operates the till. She is with regularity, very moody, often bordering on rude and abrupt. Today was the worst we have experienced – there were no pleasantries – and instead we received many dirty looks! It was a quiet day so one would think that a little extra effort would be in order. On one previous occasion she confronted us, accusing us of not paying for a coffee on our visit before that. We were horrified and publicly embarrassed. We had paid, but there was no apology from her and the next time we returned we presented our receipt – still no apology. Today the coffee was the worst we have ever had – We think the barrista was away, but that is no excuse at $3.80 a cup. The mood needs to improve or people will stop going – We say bring back the guy who used to work behind the counter! One plus – the feta and spinach scones are very nice.

Very sorry to hear that Mardi did not enjoy her mothers day visit to our cafe. As you will appreciate,on this day we are extremely busy, and some things like Paninis and Toasted sanwiches are for that day off the menu.We do cater for this day,and as we are well known for our fresh baked foods….once we have sold out of something it is pulled off the menu. I hope you come back again and give us a 2nd chance. (From a 10 year employee of Blossoms.)
Food was amazing but was let down by the lady behind the cash till. Quite abrupt and rude. A friend that recommended the place said she’s always like that. Since we made the trip from town, I would definitely NOT make the effort to go again. I would recommend the rude lady (app. she’s the owner) to do a refresh course on customer services. Or maybe it was because of our ethnic race?

Not too big, colourful and very friendly. Set in an orchard with apple trees and friendly chooks. Great meals. Great cakes. Try their Raspberry Meringue or the Macadamia Toffee or their little chocolate cupcakes…. You’ll be impressed. Because we’re greedy we usually have the works… the special plus cake plus wine plus coffee and are completely surfeited. Reasonable prices.
