I would highly recommend that you never visit the Blue Restaurant, over the last 3 months I have taking business colleagues here and the service was appalling. Waiting time over an hour to get a 2nd glass of wine, left after 45mins waiting on coffee. As business colleague was staying next door we decided to give it one last shot tonight, once again $120 later, poor service to say the least and not what I ordered so sent the meal back not eaten, would not replace my food and argued with me at the till. Food not only not what we ordered but very poor. Worst part is the staff are not trained to deal with the issues and instead treat it as a joke. I live at the Mount and will ensure no-one I know every goes back, told the waitress who I paid who treated me poorly and didn’t really care. Shame location is great but every business client I have taken has been shocked and takes hours to get a drink and a meal.

Went on girls weekend…. no cooking, dishes …
But what a disappointment. Restaurant not full , 7 of us prebooked. When we finally got our drinks about 15 – 20 mins, ordered and that followed another 1hour later (mains only) and then one of the ladies was told that it was her dinner that made it late.. lamb racks… others steak waas not what they ordered. I personally was disappointed as I thought I was getting Prawns and kumaru wedges, but instead got black rock looking objects that were boiled and in hunks, straight from the bag. The staff really werent all that concerned and we decided not to risk desert and left. Would not bother again and with the economy the way it is.. think they would have received better service

I was travelling alone around both islands so have had a chance to see how many different restaurants treat single females.
I can say that I not only enjoyed the food but also the friendly atmosphere there.
I have lost their email address as i also wanted to tell them how to make real clotted cream, having now got back to Devon and checked with locals.
I would recommend anyone to eat there.

This restaurant has new owners since 6 months. This lovely people ( they really look after their guests!!!) changed an average restaurant in to a very good one.
They build a new deck on level with the restaurant, which created Sea vieuws!!!! And they redecorated the restaurant in a nice fresh way.
We booked a table for New Years Eve for a group of 16. The food was delicious and we were served in the same time, which can be a challenge with such a large number on such a busy night.
Price and food were in a great balance. We paid for a 4 course dinner 55 NZD per person. Great Value!!!
