Our family of 4 stopped in for a lunch recently and as we had heard of friends having been here for lunch, thought we’d try for ourselves. The Boatshed is a lovely location (even thou it was pouring with rain) overlooking the lake and set in really nice gardens. However the menu was disappointing as not a lot to choose from for a lunch. We eventually settled for 2 vege soups, mushrooms on toast and a corn haloumi fritter…all looked very nice but lacked flavour..too bland. Fritters nice but could have done with a sweet chilli relish or something, soup needed some oomph. Staff were friendly and helpful. The coffees were nice, BUT my pet hate are those little cups…it doesn’t cost any more to have a decent cup of coffee than one that is finished in about 6 gulps…please consider bigger cups/mugs.
