I went to dinner at bolero food was awesome never seen a friendly staff like that visited several others but atmosphere was excellent for me and my family ordered creamy chicken and bar menu was brilliant so many options to drink 100 percent going again and recommended for others as well

Visited after a movie last week and we decided on a quick bite to eat afterwards.

We ordered Nacos and Wedges.

I asked if a could receive some bacon on the wedges and the waiter said that would cost extra. I should have asked how much extra, as when the bill arrived the price had doubled for the wedges. The bacon was probably 1/4 of a rasher, or less, just tiny little pieces.

If the waiter had said the $6.50 wedges would now be $13 I definitely would not have ordered.

When I raised this with the staff I was told they didn’t set the charges! I was told cheese and bacon costs extra…I never requested cheese.

I wont be returning as this is pure GREED and thankfully patrons have plenty of other dining choices.

Food takes very long to arrive. Flavours were present but portions were a little small.

I went here at mid day, hoping for quick lunch.
Ordered two mains and a appetizer. Asked for appetizer to come first because we were so hungry but didn’t realise that they would delay the main. Main took 50 mins to arrive from ordering. Took way too long.

Bolero is a fantastic restaurant. The staff were super friendly, and the meal was to die for. We ordered a platter which consisted of a selection of tapas and a side if kumara chips for the main and this was enough to feed two of us very comfortably. The cheese cake for dessert was possibly the best cheese cake I’ve ever had.
We will be going back guaranteed.

Took my husband there for a surprise dinner beautiful food my husband had lamb shanks and I had fish it was very sufficient décor interesting and so was the dessert the staff were great we will be back with some friends.

I have come here a few times with family and friends and not a single time have I been let down by the amazing staff. beautiful food and great atmosphere.

A friend and I visited Bolero Tapas Bar and Restaurant for lunch after some Christmas shopping and ordered the squid rings, chorizo, risotto balls and wedges. The food was delicious and portion sizes were very decent. We left feeling very satisfied with the service, food and atmosphere. Will be coming back for sure. The only thing that got me was the fact that they offer non free range and free range options. Why not just free range? But overall a good experience!

I was there recently with some friends. Despite the coolish weather the gas heater, friendly staff and well presented food made for a most enjoyable evening.
I found the food well prepared and the service was pretty good. We enjoyed the suggestions made by the waitress. One of the party decided on the suggestion and was delighted with what was delivered. I will certainly be back with some international visitors who will soon arrive for a short holiday in NZ. Thank you

We have been to this place a few times and it has always been a great experience wether it’s a light snack, breakfast or full lunch/dinner. It’s a great location for after a spot of shopping or a movie. Service is good and I credit the manager (I think he owns it) and his presence I think makes a big difference in customer service oh and the food is always good.Try chicken livers and prawns as snacks /entree plus the kumara chips one of the rare places that serves kumara chips!

Great value, great service and good food! This place is our resting place Friday night and Sunday afternoon. Always friendly and excellent value. The team here work hard and we are always welcomed with a smile. Happy hour rocks!!! Thx guys

I was with a big group and they missed my order. The wait staff were so apologetic, I couldn’t be angry with them. After I received my meal they told me I would not have to pay for it. The food was delicious and they managed to turn a disappoinment into a positive for me. In this case I think it is down to great management and staff – well done Bolero. For once I felt as if someone believed in ‘the customer is always right’.
I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Mistakes happen.

As the other reviewers had said its a great spot for dinner/lunch etc whether it be before a movie or after,or for an informal meeting with friends.I have gone there on at least 4 occasions with (family/work colleagues) and enjoyed good service and food..Until last night ! which was really unpleasant due to a surly older women who never smiled and was outwardly “rude” to a few of the girls on paying their bill at the end of the evening as she couldn’t “work” the till ?which seemed to irritate her and took out on the people paying.A real shame as the rest of the staff were helpful and pleasant as we have come to expect from BOLERO’S .We will be having our next work bonding dinner function else where next time,But to end on a happy note the (homemade bread with pomegranate molasses was to die for ! )

bolero is set by albany mall, with a nice outlook and very nice setting.

the service is friendly!
service is fast but not too fast leaving you time to have a chat and really enjoy your evening.
the food is priced nicely, not the cheapest but setting realy justifies it not to mention the exceptional quality of the food – fantastic.

Had a great meal here with my girlfriend, ambiance was great and the food was fantastic. Unfortunately my girlfriend was tired and almost fell asleep in her food (must have been the company) lol. Won’t hesitate to go back.

Absolutely great service. Food is superb and the menus are well balanced. Want to try their Tapas but never got round to it…yet. I’m a regular now! Try it out, you won’t be disappointed

this place deserves ten stars they made our nite!after bad experience at reservoir next door they accommodated us a table of 15 at no notice were friendly and accommodating in every way awesome service terrific food you are the best!!!

An excellent restaurant with a good atmosphere and delicious food, the staff are very friendly too. We always order from the tapas menu, I really do want try their Paella, but I always can’t resist have their delicious tapas, especially the Calamari!

Always excellent food and staff are always welcoming. I find the staff very friendly and they will encourage customers to try dishes they may never have tried. Their suggestions, I find are always superb.
