Went on Sunday for brunch to use a voucher we had. Had never been before but will definitely be returning. Service was fast & friendly. Prices were very reasonable – $12.50 for the French toast which was delicious – made with croissants rather than bread & very good bacon. Scrambled eggs with spinach was very generous & very good. Coffee was OK.
Checked out the outside eating area at the back that contained the kids play area & it was spotless.

Went there Sunday using a voucher giving us 4 breakfast off the menu and we pay for our drinks, as soon as I presented the voucher, the smile went out the door. We ordered and waited and waited, a couple who came after us got their food first, then when food arrived I was given something that resembled my order, I couldn’t be bothered pointing it out, I proceeded to eat it, then 3 minutes later the other 2 meals came out, which turned out to be the one I ordered. My wife couldn’t eat that meal because she can’t eat butter, to cut it short, wife was happy to go elsewhere, then to top it off, as I was leaving, the waitress was bringing out a plate that looked very nice,{bet you that wasn’t a voucher meal} I smiled at the girl who I presume, prepared our food, she just stared at me, never again.

This is my favorite “start-the-day” restaurant. Coffee and breakfast food is first class.

I enjoyed my sweet treats and coffee over the newspaper as my daughter was entertained by the playhouse in the covered courtyard, which was a treasure trove for my pre-schooler.
Very nice couches inside, plus plenty of tables for the grown-ups space indoors.
Super-friendly cafe operators were lovely.

Morning is nothing without breakfast. Actually, come to think of it, the afternoon is also much better with breakfast. It’s just a great meal, really.
If you’re an ardent fan of “the most important meal of the day” at any time of the day, hop into Boost Cafe for a delicious breakfast-y boost. This funky, breezy cafe which sits on Dominion Road in Mt Eden is always a-buzz with the smell of coffee, sizzling bacon and the chatter of all manner of guests.
It is a place where business colleagues meet up for lunch, while young families and groups of friends gossip over coffee. The menu is a brilliant list of traditional and inventive café staples as well as all-day breakfast (and a fun dedicated children’s selection). And the coffee is…ahh…the coffee is Italy’s favourite Lavazza.
So head, drop the kids off at the on-site play area, and peruse the menu for delights – a “Major Kiwi Breakfast” (two free-range eggs, two pieces of bacon, two bacon and cheese chorizo, one Portobello mushroom, grilled tomato, fried potato and two pieces of toast) or, if your appetite isn’t quite so ravenous, poached free-range eggs on fried potato (which will come with bacon or Portobello mushrooms and an English muffin).
Boost Cafe also has an impressive selection of sweet and savoury crepes, like the “Crepe Deluxe (which comes packed with bananas, berries, bacon and a scoop of New Zealand Natural ice-cream), the savoury crepe with teriyaki chicken and spinach, or (if you’re not quite over breakfast) a savoury crepe with scrambled eggs and bacon or salmon.

This cafe is awful. The service is slow, unfriendly, and the coffee is bad. I went there on sunday morning, and after a cup coffee which tasted more like milk, we waited more than half an hour to get our crepes. We were told by the cashier that there would be a 10-15 minute wait, however half an hour went by, after which I told them how long it had been, and about five minutes later they brought a crepe to our table – two of them actually, half cooked and barely edible. It was a shocker. I do not recommend this restaurant apart from the fact that the prices are reasonable, there is nothing enjoyable about the experience.

Boost Cafe is my personal favourite for a coffee for sure ! I am seriously addicted to David’s vanilla lattes – he makes the best in town ! I will drive from the other end of the city to get my cafe fix! I was a local for 3 years and now live further away so weekends are not the same for me!
The owners David and Mai are exceptional – super friendly and the bacon and eggs breakfast is yummy – one of my favourite cafes for sure!

We went there for the first time for my husband’s b’day brunch…and sorely regretted it. The service was non-existent. We ordered the big breakfast ($18), a bagel with salmon ($15) and a crepe each for our 4&6 yr old. Coffees arrived first (they were good), then husband’s big brekkie along with another plate of eggs on toast…wrong order…got it sent back and reminded them I had ordered bagel & bagel. This comes out with two small slivers of salmon and a bagel that is rock hard and charred….and no cream cheese!! Just a small serve of tomato & avo. Both meals were awful!! And then finally 20mins later the crepes arrive (after reminding them twice) and again..awful rubbery & drowning in syrup. And on check out…I queried the additional charge of $7 showing on the screen & he said “don’t worry that’s a glitch and not in the total”…so paid and left. It was latwer when we were exclaiming how truly awful that was, we did some calculations and yes they had overcharged me by $7!!!! As for the covered courtyard with toys..it has this very grimy looking playhouse with 3 or so toys on it that look mouldy & disgusting!!! I would truly give this place a wide berth!!! A terrible b’day experience!

Around once a month our family meets at Boost Cafe in Dominion Rd, we have been going for several years now and that in itself says everything.
Service is welcoming and incredibly friendly, they even remember our names and how we like our coffees. Last visit we all enjoyed the pancakes, a free tasting led us to wanting much more than a mouthful. delicious!

If you are a coffee snob you should check out the fantastic coffee that Boost offer, the flat whites are top notch plus they do a mocha to die for!, they also have a great selection of good food (With the crepes being my favourite). Add in relaxing music and a friendly environment and you have a great place to enjoy a drink and meal.
