Highly recommend you drive past and go to Macdonalds, At least the staff there are reasonably skilled in the area of service as well as knowing how to cook something in a half decent proportion……I don’t recommend this place unless you want to spend double having to feed yourself somewhere else, don’t be fooled by the look of the place.

I highly recommend they look at their obvious lack of skilled staff and find a new chef, raw bacon ain’t nice.

Oh and surprise the previous comments seem to back this up.

Disappointing. Initial hopes were high after placing orders off a well thought out menu. These hopes were quickly dismissed as soon as the meals arrived. Portions were small for the price, they forgot the bacon even though it was part of the meal and after having to wait the extra time the one piece of greasy undercooked bacon was less than satisfactory.

Confusion around splitting the bill ended up in more wasted time. With the abundance of cafe’s in the vicinity we will not be paying another visit to this place.

Recommended by friends to visit this new cafe. My friends must have come on a good day because my experience was terrible.
In a nutshell our Indian waiter was rude, her mannerism was terrible ans her personal hygiene needs to be addressed.
On a positive note ..we were greeted warmly from another staff member when we arrived and departed. The coffee was great.

This is the best mix of both worlds – great coffee as you find it in New Zealand and the great bread as you’d find in Europe. This must be the best bread and pastries you can find in New Zealand. The cafe itself is very inviting – very creative and inviting interior design. Also the other items on the menu sound awesome, eg the juices. Thanks for making the bread with all organic ingredients!

Fantastic in every way!

After easy parking (which can often be a nightmare for other Richmond Road locations) the first thing that really impressed me about this place was the decor. Rolling pin door handles, whisk light shades, very cool. We were greeted by a very friendly host and coffee orders were taken immediately…

Then came the hard part, choosing the food. Glancing around the cafe it all looked great. The menu read really yummy but then there was also this counter of amazing filled rolls and freshly prepared treats. Hard to choose so I satisfied my instant hunger with a BLAT pretzel roll (OMG these are good) while I waited for my order of freshly cooked eggs on toast.

Coffee (new brand called 5 elements) was perfection. The cooked food was also amazing. Service was fantastic and a lovely lady called Issy (maybe the owner) made sure everything was great for us and made recommendations on the breads that are worth listening too. She knows what’s awesome!!

The most interesting thing is the reasonable price! Their cooked food is brilliant value, possibly even too cheap? Love this Place!

Overall I cannot fault this new addition to the neighborhood. Well done. It is cafes like this that make me so happy to live in Auckland!

Well what a disappointment –
I have had a couple of great meals there previously but today such a change. The portions were smaller 2 fritters vs 3 previously and then I asked for crispy bacon and extra condiments, meal arrived, minimal condiments and just cooked bacon. The waitress returned with the extras and by the time my meal was finished returned with more just cooked bacon and commented ‘oh well I ‘ll get the manager’ and cleaned up the food. The manager said that the wrong till button had been pressed so I didn’t get ‘crispy’ bacon and said she hadn’t checked the second lot, the owner was there and chose not to come and speak to me – well guess what I won’t return and neither will my friends – sad and this is part of the Melba chain?
