The Brick House Restaurant is located in a beautiful old historic building in Wanganui opposite the Royal Wanganui Opera House and offers a relaxed atmosphere where wholesome kiwi-style meals and desserts are made entirely on the premises. Good, old-fashioned home style roasts, great steaks and seafood and many other dishes to choose from. The meals are all served with either salad and chips or 6 fresh vegetables.
Desserts are also made on the premises and you will enjoy old favourites like apple crumble, steamed pudding & custard, pavlova roll, bread and butter pudding and our signature dessert – lemon meringue pie. Others also feature on our changing daily menu.
There is a good wine list with choices to suit most people’s taste and the usual beers, spirits (mixed the old-fashioned way too!!) and juices and soft drinks. Drinks are purchased at the bar.
Families will enjoy the chance to dine out together at a reasonable price and there is something on the menu to suit all ages.
Groups can pay all in one account or each person can pay for themself.
Diners order and pay at the counter and then come up to collect their own meals when their number is called. Staff and customers alike enjoy this as they get a chance to chat with each other and the atmospehre is very friendly and relaxed.
There is a private function/meeting room with seating for up to 40 people.
