At the foot of the Cashmere Hills, the Brickworks represents gastronomy at its best. With sheltered alfresco dining and a river view, the Brickworks is a great place to soak up the sun over a long lunch, A large fireplace provides warmth indoors on cooler days. The atmosphere is stylish, yet casual, with good service and knowledgeable staff.

We went to The Brickworks on 12 May 2012 two of us ordered the venison Ossco Bucco, the meat was dry and full of gristle and tasted nothing like any venison we have ever had, if it it was a blind tasting we would have said it was very bad oxtail not properly cooked. The other two meals were satisfactory. Do not say something is venison when it is not.

My husband and I ate at the BrickWorks tonight for the first time in about two years and I honestly have never had a better dining experience. The menu had changed since our last visit there (understandably after 2 years!)as they had a new chef in place. We both opted for the beef house special and mussels for entree. I have never tasted a meal as good, and the chef was so kind as at the last minute I wanted rosemary sauce instead of mushroom. The service was absolutely out of this world! All the staff had big smiles on their faces even though the place was quite busy and they made sure we were satisfied from the moment we were shown our table. The atmosphere was fantastic, it was like I was one of their own. Absolutely fantastic job to all the staff at the Brickworks, I’ll be certainly coming back as soon as possible for many more splendid dinners to come!!!

I have eaten at your restaurant on 5 occasions. Today Sat, 11/06/2011 my sister and my daughter went to the Brickworks to celebrate my sister’s birthday.I had to approach the girl to seat us and we were given the menus but waited approx 15min before being asked if we would like a drink. We then again waited for our order to be taken.During our meal the waitress did not approach us, again we waited. My daughter went to the counter to ask for another glass of wine and for the dessert menu.
When we departed I noted one of your waitresses was quite busy talking to some men drinking at the bar, in which I had noticed earlier. There was no acknowledgement of thankyou or have a nice day.
I will acknowledge that the food is lovely.

We have dined several times over the last few weeks to the point where staff seem to know us.
The fillet steak is unbeatable for taste, texture & style. I had it with red wine jus & was superb.
Started with crisp garlic loaf & finished with choc fondant, all of which were 5 star plus.
Keep it up guys – you are highly recommended.

Venue was pleasant and welcoming. It was a very long time before we were brought a menu or some water. The porterhouse steak was beautifully cooked with a delicious mushroom sauce and a nice salad and fries accompanied it. The meal was large!!!!! On paying we were told that the meal was actually $32.00 instead of the $29.00 we expected from the menu as we had mushroom sauce – however the mushroom sauce was part of the meal.

Took 3 ladies for a special lunch yesteday. It was so special we couldn’t eat it. First the chicken and corn soup arrived with a h0t bowl surrounding cold soup, not even lukewarm,. We had it reheated but during the eating of it there was no discernible chicken and nno sign of corn. one diner discovered small bones in hers and stopped eating half way thru.
Two of us had fish wrapped in bacon on a bed of coldish potato, cucumber frills and some kind of sauce which tasted dreadful. Half my fish was not cooked thru. I complained and chef came out. He could see nothing wrong with the food. He would not accept that the fish was undercooked or tasted horrible. He did apologise. I resented paying $100 for food that was terrible. I will never go back

Sum it up by saying terrible! Firstly I do not expect at the age of 29 to be asked along with my partner to produce ID while seated at our table and after ordering a bottle of Pinot Noir which the waitress held back until we could prove our age. I have never experienced this before at a restaurant and should of left after that as the food was disgusting. Both our entree and main were brought out so fast barely had time to finish our bread. Both our mains although strangely not undercooked were luke warm to cold with my partner describing his ribs as basically fat with the smell of wet dog. He actually felt sick after trying them and declined the waitress’s offer to reheat them or renew them put off by the first attempt. I was equally disappointed with the Lamb which didn’t come with a side of vegetables which the waitress should of advised me of. They did discount the ribs however their bad service and even worse food made sure we will not be returning.

My wife and I went to the Brickworks last Friday and had a fantastic time. The food was of excellent quality and the service was great too. The atmosphere was really relaxed and the venue was very busy. We’ll definately be back!!

(Mon 2nd July) Four of us walked into the restaurant very good first impression. A lovely young waitress showed us to our seat, wasn’t too busy. Our drinks were ordered and served. We ordered a garlic bread which was very nice and great for 4 people definitely too big for 2. But i am not even going to mention how bad the food was after that. well presented but work on that taste would you!!
