I love the Bridge House…
Have moved up to the area from Auckland. And decent meals are hard to come by up here. The food here is standard pub fare, but done well with consistency and to a standard you wouldn’t expect in a ‘pub’. The stand out dish for me at the moment would be the Pork Belly.
The service is very good here, although when it gets busy it is hard to grab a waiters attention.
Lovely wine list, with local additions such as Ascension The Druid Chardonnay, which is reasonably priced.

Bit disappointed lately Bridgehouse… we have often dined with you, but lately the food hasn’t been as good as previous years and the serving sizes vary alot (maybe different chefs?)… keep your high standards to keep the locals coming back and bringing all their Akl mates!!!
We stopped for pizza late on a Saturday afternoon and where one of only two groups there. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with friendly and help service.
The pizza’s were delivered quickly and tasted fine for an afternoon snack. They also do have a kids menu.
A good place to have a cold beer and sit outside in the sun to watch the local traffic go by.

Had the fish of the day with Israeli couscous. Best fish dish I have had out in a long time. Moist, hot and delicious couscous.
Friends had standard fish& chips, crispy as always, and generous in size. Other meal was steak, normally always good, but this one little tough (mr) & cooked to much on one side – staff happy to rectify.
Happy team, helpful… But could make more money if they watched drinks and top up or offered more

Have been a few times and always enjoyed it, went there for a family Xmas lunch at Xmas time and it was lovely, everyone enjoyed it, heaps of food and it was all very good, despite being so busy, a glass was never left not topped up, the staff were excellent and really friendly.
I’m a local now in WW, and have been a few times for dinners and lunches, and/or drinks. Really enjoy the food, especially the squid and the meals for dinner are generous, tasty and IMO the Bridgehouse is the best place to get a nice meal in WW town.
I’ll be going back for sure, can’t wait!
The atmosphere is lovely too, excellent staff who really look after you and cannot fault the food! YUM!

Totally unprofessional. Ordered a side of mushrooms with some toast. I think the waitress undercharged for the toast, because the next thing we knew the chef (a Gordon Ramsey wanna-be but never will be) started yelling at the waitress that she should have charged at least $3 for the toast and that if she kept that up he might as well shut up and go home. (Our total order came to over $50 – so I suspect he wasn’t entirely out of pocket by the one piece of toast.) This tirade took place about 2 metres away from our table – making us and our two small children very uncomfortable. What a performance – avoid this place at all costs.
I have lived in Orewa for the last 4 years and prior to that lived in Warkworth for 5yrs. Our family have frequented this restaurant for generations even back to my grandparents. My Uncle worked as chef there in his 20′s and I grew up hearing about how good the food was. The service is beyond reproach, standard of staff dress is excellent, staff are friendly and available. The food is beautifully presented, excellent quality, always hot, lots of colour and taste divine every time. When we moved to Orewa we hoped there might be a restaurant with the same quality but alas we tried everyone in this area and found not one meets there standard. So we have continued to travel to Warkwoth to “The Bridge House” weekly or fortnightly for the last 4 years. If you want quality and fantastic service it is worth the travel.

The past 4-5 years my wife and two boys have frequently visited this establishment for numerous meals and family celebrations and cannot fault it. Waiting staff are always helpful, friendly and well informed about menus etc. Food has always been to the utmost standard and even children’s meals for our boys are too big to be believed. It is nice to visit somewhere for a meal and feel “full” upon leaving.I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to have a meal and/or drink here, as I often do. Even grandparents on their 60th wedding anniversary were STOKED!!!

We’re locals and eat often at the Bridgehouse. Without fail, every meal has been served promptly (esp our daughter’s meals – full marks for bringing children’s food out quickly!) and is delicious. It is the usual range of chicken/fish/beef/vege dishes, but I think of very good quality, not just churned out. The chicken breast main especially is divine. My family in ChCh insist on only dining here when visiting! Great for a drink, snack or more substantial meal on any occasion.
I’ve been there once, I was in the company of a chef whom actually spat out his food. Good place to go for cheap drinks though.
