We had an early meal at Brooklyn Bar & Bistro before a movie earlier this week. The main bar area is open and cavernous but the dining area is a lot more cosy. The menu is mostly gourmet steak and burger-based pub fare with a couple of vegetarian options. On Wednesdays, they offer two mains from a selection of five meals for $25, which is great value. We opted for steak and I had the 250 g Angus sirloin steak, medium rare with garlic butter on top. Our steaks came with a large portion of fries and salad and were cooked well. Although we were first to arrive and ordered as soon as the kitchen opened, it was more than half an hour before our meals arrived. However, the service from the waiting staff was pleasant. Good, standard Kiwi pub fare at a slightly above average price.

We were fortunate enough to grab a Deal Voucher they had going for unlimited ribs and sides, and a drink.. have lived in Brooklyn for many years but hadn’t been there for a few years and we were pleasantly surprised! Food was amazing, service and friendliness was second to none and the atmosphere was nice and relaxing.. like we were at home really! we loved it and went back again with our kids and some friends.. Would definitely recommend for any group or family meal. Our kids were kept occupied in the toy zone while we chatted away (taking our kids out for dinner is usually hellish lol) and the layout was really well planned out.. Cant say enough good things about this place we will definitely be back again!

We went there last night to celebrate my nephew’s 18th. We were very pleased with the level of service we received from Gareth. He’s warm and friendly, organized and on top of things. I’m a non-drinker & they have all my favorite juices available which was good. I love blue cheese & I’m more than happy it was served as a dip. I also like how the family (kid friendly) space is separated (walled) and away from the bar. I’m used to eating American BBQ but theirs was not bad, though it could use more kick (spice, smokiness & heat) & less tomato sauce. Would definitely recommend.

Took mum out for a meal tonight.
Ordered ribs and the kikorangi blue burger. The wait for the meal was between 30 and 40 minutes. That’s quite a wait.
My burger was almost half undercooked. I pointed this out to the waitress. When the waitress came back from the kitchen she said the chef cooks the burger medium. Put simply, Half raw mince is not medium!! I was offered other food, drink or dessert items but not a full refund. I agreed to a half refund as I didnt want more food from them. Unfortunately I wouldn’t go back for a meal here, and would not recommend others to eat there either. Perhaps it was an off night???

Went to this place with 9 friends and the service from Gareth was amazing. It was my first time there but Gareth made us feel like we are old friends with his welcome, his humour, fun and great service and attitude throughout. The ribs were amazing as well and the ambience the best I’ve experienced in a restaurant for a long time. There were giant sports screen showing live rugby but it wasn’t obtrusive and we were able to have a great group time together. The prices were very decent too. I will definitely be back with more friends soon. Highly recommended. Kudos to you Gareth. Extraordinary service and great communication.

What an improvement. The new owners have done a great job over the last year. The staff are very friendly and get to know most customers very well. Tuatara Beer on tap, Massive Screen on the wall, and the re birth of Bogarts Pizza of Brooklyn fame several years ago (same owners). Amazingly affordable prices and very good specials. This Bar is worth checking out This is not the same old pub.
