Best cafe in town. Reliable, fast, yummy food and if it is held up it’s usually because someone just ordered 10 coffees at one time (which just happened the other day). They make great coffees, the girls are great and so popular. Best parking available, Farmers carpark and parking down James Street. My only complaint is, if I have to give one, because it’s so good, there’s a line right on lunchtime. Secret is to get there right on 12noon or don’t turn up between 12.05 and 12.30 otherwise you have to wait. Mind you plenty of seating.

What a great find. Lovely food, plenty of veggie options too, which is really something in meat loving NZ!
Also a great place to breastfeed a hungry baby. There should be more places like this in Whangarei considering the hospital is so pro breastfeeding, why aren’t the cafes?
The Cabbage Tree is now my number one choice for lunch with family and friends. Just a shame it’s not open at the weekend.
