I have lunch here each time I visit Oxford, about once a month, and have never been disappointed. Good service and great food, especially recommend the tasty seafood chowder, a meal in itself. Comfortable surroundings and interesting selection of paintings to view as a bonus.

Very poor service. We felt that the wait staff were “put out” by our presence.
Kids ordered fries. Staggered when presented with crinkle cut, out of the freezer, chips.
BLT one slice of bread (which was nice) one slice of lettuce, two slices of tomato, two rashers of badly cooked, extremely fatty, bacon and more of the crinkle cuts. Wife’s corn fritters could have been used to patch a road. Over priced and under delivered.
On the plus side we went to Jo Seager’s for coffee and the wait staff were actually twice as rude, which took some doing!
Not what a family seeking a bit of respite from the shaking, silt and destroyed house were looking for.
Won’t be eating in Oxford again.

Simply the best! Cafe 51 never fails to impress. Biggest decision is to order what we fell in love with last time, or order something new!

Great atmosphere. Some would say perhaps a tad pricey but you can “forgive” when the food and service is just so damn good. The dinner menu, given the range of choice, is exciting. I’d strongly recommend any fish lover seriously consider going for the Seafood Chowder entree – magnificent! On the Mains side of the ledger the Rack of Lamb is “to die for,” and the desserts simply serve to make “Weight Watchers” – the ENEMY! Magnificent all round!!
