Well, what is there to say about Cafe 51?
It’s run by an Asian version of the Odd Couple. It can be hard to understand what they’re saying, and they in turn they find it hard to understand English.
The food is an odd array of Asian foods such as noodles, sushi and dumplings, to standard western fare like fries, muffins, and … curry? The food is expensive by most people’s standards – the coffee average (especially when L’affare and Brooklyn are just around the corner). Best buy is probably the noodles at about $7.50 … But the muffins, which are baked fresh are great too and usually sold out by around lunchtime!
If you want GREAT coffee, good prices and great food then dont go there. If on the other hand you just want somewhere quiet, then its pretty good for that. Also seems popular amongst smokers … so if thats on your hitlist then steer clear.
