The service was quick and friendly and the portion sizes generous. I also liked the choice of two sauces ( in separate dishes)with our steaks as I couldn’t decided on just one.
The crème brulee for dessert was to die for.
Would definitely recommend and go back to try other menu options.
Great as a casual or more upmarket place to dine

We ended up going to one of the nearby restaurants to get a salad and get rid of the taste of the curry and bread.
Would not recommend Café Del Mar to anyone.

1x Main @ $24 (Steak dish w/2x sauces)
1x Sprite @ $4
1x Banana Sundae @ $12
This comes to $40 (give or take $1-$2 as I’m not entirely sure of the price of the drink but the rest is accurate).
I’ve since learned to pay closer attention to the checkout operator, because she charged me $67.
This is obviously partially my own fault for not questioning the charge but, c’mon, $5-$10 overcharged is excusable, but more than $20?
Anyway, food there is good, counter staff are lousy.
I ordered the BLT for my Dad and asked for it without the tomato and lettuce. I was told this would cost an extra $4.90 change charge??
They were not changing anything – all they had to do was not put in the lettuce and tomato!
Extremely disappointing and not good business sense as they have lost regular customers for $4.90.
Maybe the prices have a bearing on the fact that the restuarant was empty.
Went again on Sunday and again had fabulous meals (both different
steaks). The service is so friendly and helpful and we feel very comfortable there. Would highly recommend for quality of the food and price.
If we lived nearer we would be there weekly. We travel overseas a lot and this place is among the best. It may not be silver service and starched waiters but this is not what they advertise and not what we want too often.
Also like taking our own wine.
Very well priced food and very tasty, I had the Pea pie pud, without a doubt the best Pie I have ever had .
Think the TVs are a little tacky but service is magic every time we go.
Planning to try the Tea menu as this is now our favourite cafe
My husband really liked the airy-relaxed cafe setting. Husband had a steak main and really enjoyed it, said it was a fantastic meal for $24. I had the chicken with passion-fruit sauce, mash and cashews. This was pretty good, not something I have seen before so was a nice change!
I really enjoyed the selection and choice. My husband is t-total and I am pregnant so finding somewhere that caters to our needs at the moment is tricky!
We felt the prices were reasonable.
We then had desserts, apple tart and pecan pie. The pecan pie was delicious!
We would go again!

The Environment is very nice and easy to find.
I double checked with the stuff about the opening time. They opened until 9 pm 7 days instead of 5pm.
Stuff at the cafe are very patient when you ask them questions.
Always smile when they are taking order or deliver food, drink.
Fast delivery after ordered.
Ice treats are very nice worth a try.
Arrived for brunch at 10:30 but service was so slow we had to purchase deli counter food for the baby to eat for lunch. Service staff were slow and rude.
The eggs benidict was bland and appeared to have been deep fried as the bacon snapped when you tried to get it on a fork. Eggs were dry and the entire meal was very salty.
To think I could pay the same price for a reliably excellent brunch at places like Holy Smoke makes me very annoyed.
None of the staff asked how the meal was so I have to review it here instead.
I recently went there for lunch with a good business friend, who is gluten intolerant. After I ordered the Chili Beef & Bean Pasty and a smoothie, my companion enquired what options were available that he could eat. The overly rude counter person didn’t seem to have an answer for him and suggested they might have some gluten free bread. She didn’t suggest anything that could be prepared or anything further. In frustration he ordered two small things from the cabinet and requested that one be heated.
Ten minutes later when our food arrived, his request for heating had been ignored, leading to him returning it to the counter and requesting a refund.
The manager came to our table to provide the refund and query what had happened, offering us two free coffee cards as well, which was to his credit.
My pasty was fine, but not overly enjoyable due to the bad taste in our mouths the service had left, especially as it had been my suggestion to go there.
It’s unlikely I’ll be going back, as bad service can easily put you off as easily as poor food can.
A disappointing experience considering how nice the venue itself looks.
