We used to love the place but recently had a horrible experience! After sending back our coffees with burnt milk the next two that came out were even worse! The coffee was that hot that I ended up scalding my tongue and dropping the cup! After 3 days I still can still feel the burn when drinking a hot drink. Then when I went to complain I was met with a defensive and very hostile response from the waitress. Yes our money was refunded but I was fobbed off with a card with the number of the owner Jacko. I left a message on his mobile to call me – yes you guessed it, he has still never bothered to call me back! What a disappointing experience after many years of supporting this place.

Best coffee in Palmerston North!

Haven’t tried the menu. Counter food is nice but a little bit overpriced.

Jacko’s is my favourite cafe in Palmerston North. The ambience is mellow, the service friendly and efficent and the food is a notch above it’s competitors.

Thoroughly recommend it to my fellow tea-lovers, those hunting a decent cup of coffee and those who love simple meals done well. I particularly recommend trying one of the all day items from the blackboard menu. My favourites are the pasta and the big breakfast.

Jacko’s is pretty popular with the locals and attracts a range of people. It’s a comfortable kind of place.
