Agree with some of the other reviews about the delay in the food but can’t fault it. Love the atmosphere, the coffee and the food. Elton and Stu made a good move from Tuakau. Had lunch there last week with a friend and loved their potato wedges! Very kitsch but thats what makes it unique.

Elton and the atmosphere makes the place. The food is often late and pretty average. Sort the kitchen out Elton and you’ll take the place to the next level!

Best cafe in the town, everyone needs to sample this amazing place !! Elton and Stu are great hosts and the food is wonderful, the service quick and the price is right! Sit in a comfy chair on the sidewalk with a great cup of coffee and a sticky bun and watch the world go by.

My sister and I came in for lunch with both our babies. The staff were awesome, very friendly and well informed.
The ambiance and atmosphere is quirky but great!
Food was reasonably priced, good and came out on a good time. The cabinet had a great looking selection of paninis, sweets and salads.

First experience now they have relocated to Pukekohe. Loved the decor, great novel idea for menu. Food was nice, coffee was very good. Looking forward to going back when they are fully operational.

What an awesome welcome I and my group got from Elton!! We were running late but no problem. We were so impressed that he had set up the gallery for us “art deco”style.
The food, the service, the charm was so good!!!!!!
Great atmosphere, great host, wonderful staff, nothing too much trouble and we got to meet the lovely Penny & Harry {OMG is that his name??}I have already recommended to several friends and I am planning a return visit very soon.Go Elton!!

Elton is the entertainment, once he knows you, you need to allow at least an hour for a coffee as he will monopolise you. Cherry in the kitchen is a star, as are the other “mums” who work there. Let down by a few of the “kids” who are really NOT good at their job. Food is great but some dishes have too much doorstop bread or rocket lettuce, and not enough of the good stuff. Given they have recently hiked their prices, need more of the meats etc and less of the fluff. Stunning cakes and always a lovely coffee, great place to stop and Tuakaus biggest asset – next to from Elton, of course :O)

Unfortunately my dining experience on Sunday was short opf the mark, the food was good but not value for money. I had French Toast etc. Meal consisted of 2 pieces of bread dipped in egg not left in long ehough, very chewy as a result one small rasher of bacon half a banana plate then filled with chopped fruit and covered in thick layer of Icing Sugar. Very disappointing as up until now have always enjoed this particular meal. Always pour my own “Maple” syrup. What has happened?

Kaos/Soak is a wonderful modern, stylish cafe/restaurant complete with contemporary art gallery. Great atmosphere, friendly and efficient service, superb food. Hubby and I recently had a meal there at Soak, limited menu but the food presented implied that they indeed do have great chefs, we were impressed. The cafe Kaos meets all expectations and is equal to any you could find in the big city with food that is simply tantalising. It is worth a weekend drive out to the country just to stop in Tuakau and have a meal at Kaos/Soak and visit the other shopping attractions that Tuakau has to offer, you will be pleasantly surprised.
