Kaos is my cafe of choice. Sometimes it does live up to it’s name, but that’s all part of the Kaos experience. Today’s breakfast was spot on, the bacon crispy enough, gluten free bread available and soft fried eggs, what more could a girl ask for? It’s a busy cafe so be prepared to hang out in the 60′s style and chill.

So guttered. I love the vibe at Kaos and the owners are great but after today I won’t ever go back. Service was slow and unfriendly. Went there for a birthday lunch, didn’t matter that we’d booked – still had to wait 35min for basic meals. I get it;s tough if it’s busy but a smile would have gone a long way! Had to ask twice for water then only got 2 glasses between 4 of us. Coffee was burnt and no one checked on our meals or asked what if things were ok – probably because they could tell we were unhappy.
My advice is to go when it’s quiet and you have lots of time.

When Kaos first opened it was amazing!! Became one of our favorite places for weekend catch up breakfasts with friends until we decided on Saturday the 24th of November to never dine again due to for the past 4 visits we get the same long wait on our meals of 45 minutes to an hour!! Also then noticing our orders are not correct. Then having the waiter be rude to us when we ask what was written on our order docket since it looks like our orders are all wrong. Kaos did not care one bit – maybe it’s just the rude staff management are fun and bubbly but everything else needs some work! Also it may pay for your staff to approach tables a few minutes after the have received there meals to check that everything is okay instead of waiting until we have to find you to ask what has happened!
Happened too many times now never dining again! Absolutely sick of it!

My partner and I went to Kaos for lunch on Sunday 25th November and it was awesome! Food was fabulous, so tasty and very decent servings. The staff are wonderful, very friendly and nothing was an issue – they definitely aim to please which is fantastic! The decor is funky and interesting and you just feel really comfortable from the minute you walk in.

All in all we could not fault the place, just fantastic. Keep up the awesome work guy’s :)

I find the service to be very friendly but have been in three times to find nothing of interest in their cabinets to eat. Often I just go away with a take away coffee alone.

This neat cafe has the kind of vibe you usually get from a trendy cafe in the heart of Wellington…that’s a good thing. Its funky decor is matched with quality food that is well presented. Service and pricing are what you would expect and on the whole Cafe Kaos is a very enjoyable place to visit. Its my favourite cafe in Pukekohe so I would say give them a go, I am sure you will enjoy the experience.

My friend and I enjoyed lunch at Kaos last Monday 19 March and I have to say I love the 60s the ambience, service and food was superb. The movie theatre is a quaint addition it is a nice place to hold a special occasion such as a farewell for a special friend.

Agree with some of the other reviews about the delay in the food but can’t fault it. Love the atmosphere, the coffee and the food. Elton and Stu made a good move from Tuakau. Had lunch there last week with a friend and loved their potato wedges! Very kitsch but thats what makes it unique.

Elton and the atmosphere makes the place. The food is often late and pretty average. Sort the kitchen out Elton and you’ll take the place to the next level!

Best cafe in the town, everyone needs to sample this amazing place !! Elton and Stu are great hosts and the food is wonderful, the service quick and the price is right! Sit in a comfy chair on the sidewalk with a great cup of coffee and a sticky bun and watch the world go by.

My sister and I came in for lunch with both our babies. The staff were awesome, very friendly and well informed.

The ambiance and atmosphere is quirky but great!

Food was reasonably priced, good and came out on a good time. The cabinet had a great looking selection of paninis, sweets and salads.

What an awesome welcome I and my group got from Elton!! We were running late but no problem. We were so impressed that he had set up the gallery for us “art deco”style.
The food, the service, the charm was so good!!!!!!
Great atmosphere, great host, wonderful staff, nothing too much trouble and we got to meet the lovely Penny & Harry {OMG is that his name??}I have already recommended to several friends and I am planning a return visit very soon.Go Elton!!

Elton is the entertainment, once he knows you, you need to allow at least an hour for a coffee as he will monopolise you. Cherry in the kitchen is a star, as are the other “mums” who work there. Let down by a few of the “kids” who are really NOT good at their job. Food is great but some dishes have too much doorstop bread or rocket lettuce, and not enough of the good stuff. Given they have recently hiked their prices, need more of the meats etc and less of the fluff. Stunning cakes and always a lovely coffee, great place to stop and Tuakaus biggest asset – next to from Elton, of course :O)

Unfortunately my dining experience on Sunday was short opf the mark, the food was good but not value for money. I had French Toast etc. Meal consisted of 2 pieces of bread dipped in egg not left in long ehough, very chewy as a result one small rasher of bacon half a banana plate then filled with chopped fruit and covered in thick layer of Icing Sugar. Very disappointing as up until now have always enjoed this particular meal. Always pour my own “Maple” syrup. What has happened?

Kaos/Soak is a wonderful modern, stylish cafe/restaurant complete with contemporary art gallery. Great atmosphere, friendly and efficient service, superb food. Hubby and I recently had a meal there at Soak, limited menu but the food presented implied that they indeed do have great chefs, we were impressed. The cafe Kaos meets all expectations and is equal to any you could find in the big city with food that is simply tantalising. It is worth a weekend drive out to the country just to stop in Tuakau and have a meal at Kaos/Soak and visit the other shopping attractions that Tuakau has to offer, you will be pleasantly surprised.
