Lovely views from all tables, food choice limited due to size of cafe, good mochas, friendly staff, reasonable pricing, but building could do with a good cleanup. Based on 3 visits.

I am writing this note in lieu of lodging a formal complaint since there is no email address available to do it less publicly. I am exceedingly upset by my treatment at this establishment earlier today. I was enjoying a coffee with my partner and reading in preparation for an upcoming lecture (I work at the university of Otago) when a male cafe worker (greying hair and slight build) approached us and, with some force behind his words, informed us that although there we other tables available to be used and we had purchased coffees, he couldn’t allow us to “sit there all day.” It’s upsetting since the cafe is one of my favorite spots and I feel too uncomfortable to return.
