This is one of the best places to get sushi from in Wellington.
It is located down left bank in between Cuba and Victoria street.
The staff are very friendly and always super busy. They will even make up fresh sushi for you if requested.
They have a good and interesting selection of vegetarian sushi too. They have delicious flavours that may contain tofu, sun-dried tomato, kumara, olives, ginger, cucumber, mushroom, avocado and much more.
The only bad thing is that they are closed for so long over the Christmas period. They re-open 25th of January, 2011.
Highly recommended!

Moving back down to Wellington a few years back, The girlfriend and I were always on the hunt for a satifactory sushi place, one that could stack up to our regular sushi joint out of town, but our search was pretty fruitless, until we started eating sushi from California. My girlfriend has since become very regular there, bringin home some excellent sushi creations on the reg.
She has also become very familiar with the staff here, who are very friendly, and obviously make a great sushi. There is an awesome variety of dishes here, and some great combo packs combinig two or more excellent types. The prices here are pretty normal, but the quality of the sushi is definitely some of the best around, better than the chain store places and other places around the CBD.
They also have some seating there, and a variety of drinks available, but i usually eat my sushi takeout. They have single pieces of a variety of their sushi, so you can mix and match your own order – a good feature i thought. As with other sushi places, they tend to run out of certain dishes after lunch time, but there’s usually something delicious remaining there. One of the better spots for sushi, recommended.

Best sushi in Wellington!
Friendly, knowledgeable staff who are always happy to recommend a dish. The food is always fresh and the combinations are mouth watering! Eg) Teryaki chicken, roast peach, cream cheese and avocado or tofu, sun dried tomato and avocado. Amazing! They also have an assortment of hot food ranging from wasabi and smoked salmon dumplings to chicken curry. The presentation is excellent and the flavour is 2nd to none. I’ve taken several friends there and they’re reaction is always hilarious. One even got mad at me because now he’s “addicted” and “no other sushi will ever match up”!!!
