Wow I can not understand how this place gets these positive reviews.
We went once to this place during a public holiday as we hadnt booked early enough at it was the only place that was dead. Probably says something. It a very weird place, Italian meets Seafood restaurant at a lake town, go figure.
Everything was very expensive and the servings were really small. There were 6 of us in the party and no one was very impressed with their meal. I got the ravioli which was actually quite nice, and around the $25 dollar make, but it was about 6 pieces of ravioli.
There are some great spots in Wanaka, this is definitely not one of them.

We have been to Capriccio the last 3 times we have visited Wanaka and have never been disappointed! In fact we always talk about how good the meal was for at least 2 days afterwards. The service is always top class and the food is to die for, especially the steak or venison. It is the only place that I order a 3 course meal. From start to finish it is delicous! I had the bruschetta (yum) for a start, followed by steak and then chocolate pudding…still thinking about now. See you next time when we are down.

We have dined at Capriccios many times over a number of years and have yet to have a bad experience. The food is excellent and the staff are great which is why we have returned regularly. Dick is a great host and if you enjoy a great conversation, Dick is your man. We will be back next time we are in Wanaka.

Really excellent new menu and helpful staff. Have visited many times over many years and never been disappointed.

The worst meal that we have ever had. The sauce tasted like rancid cream dish water and the squid was rubber and over peppered and floured. Disgusting is the only word I can use this was of course exceeded by the owner “Dick” who really suits his name! when we complained he abused us, told us he would not refund, would never have us back ever, even if we were unbelievably brave and we had to walk away. Unbelievable! WARNING Don’t go there.

Chef must have been away when I dined at Capriccio. Several menu items were not available, then the food that we were served was certainly not up to standard. I wouldn’t be surprised if they re-heated someone else’s cancelled meal. I won’t be returning.

We have been to Capriccio approx 6 times, the sevice and staff are just what you want when you go out, helpful, prompt and attentive. As for the food, surprisingly that actually outshines the staff, where do I start, Fresh, well presented and cooked to Absolute Perfection, definitly the Best food I have ever had.
