I had fish and chips and fried oysters. Best I have had for ages. I have tried the other fish and chips shops in Orewa and Captain Kirk’s tops them all, hands down for food and for service. Thank-you

Stopped in here today on my way home from Whangarei and the whole way home I knew and kept reminding myself to write a review for this takeaways. Absolutely awesome! It was restaurant quality food wrapped in newspaper. The salads are of the same high quality as well. I would highly recommend everyone stop in here. I have NEVER come across a takeaways where the seafood is fresh as can be, the pricing is very reasonable and the service was more than just a smile. Thank you Captain Kerr’s for ending my holiday on a high note.

This is a new fish & chip shop in Orewa that we tried last night, and I have to say, it should up the game of the others.

The burgers were very good, a single scoop of chips at just $2.50 was more than we could eat. The potato fritters were consistent size and yummy. Chips were done perfectly.

Gourmet fish burger was yummy, and only complaint was it didn’t have a fancy bun. But it is $2 cheaper than the competition, so not really unexpected.

Service was friendly and professional. They also give you free sauce.

So,I’d highly recommend them, especially as they have far longer hours than the others.

They also do scoop icecream and milkshakes, which sets them apart from their main competition. I suspect they will have a booming summer trade with the beach and park right across the road.
