I came in with my old duck hoping i could treat her. My mother ordered the creamy mushrooms with bacon and and asked for the toast and bacon to be soft after been at the dentist and i order the open style sandwich. The meals came out fast.
which was great and lovely young man handed us meals but
it was a rip off! the toast was rock hard and burnt! the bacon was fatty, tough and knife couldn’t even cut through it.
To make matters worse my bread was burnt the steak was very thin, no flavor and was like rubber! i ask a older lady to re do my mother meal and with rude tone she replied oh sorry and grabbed it out of my hands! that was plan rude!
we order coffee and tea for after meal and the also came out very fast and i got a latte which the have the milk and then the coffee on the side which different very good idea which then the young lady explained that to us and then came along the tea which to our surprise was this big pot with the old duck loved.
never would go for a meal there again but tea and coffee i would stick to.

I had breakfast here on Wednesday 23/1/13. I ordered bacon & eggs on toast ($13). The bacon was so dried out it didn’t bend when held vertical, and the knife had trouble cutting it because it had the texture of leather. The poached eggs were also overdone so that the yolks were mostly solid. The ciabatta was burnt on the edges, and the first bite was soggy wet, presumably from poaching water. I ordered a pot of tea and asked for extra milk, because I like milky tea. The teapot was huge, about a litre (why?) and came with one of those tiny milk jugs which holds about 75ml – which as usual was less than half full. Altogether a very disappointing breakfast.
The other time I ate here I had the frittata, which looked small but delicious. Unfortunately it seemed to have been soaked in oil and had absorbed it like a sponge. You could literally squeeze the oil out of it. Eating it made me feel sick.
From now on I’ll stick to coffee if I have to meet my friend here. She’s been a devoted regular for years – I can’t say I understand the attraction!

We love going to Casalinga. The chef is always friendly, and has been more than accommodating with her menu when needed. Personally, I love the coffee, and yes, I am particular! My husband loves the fancy burger and raves about it to all his work colleagues. Would eat their every day if my budget let me. Keep with the good work Sandra!

I love to bring my kids in for an occasional treat. The food is always yummy and the staff are great. We will keep coming back.

Casalinga, well the coffee is ok the food is all done on site thats a good start the new owners have put some of the costing up, i think a soy flat white is just getting a bit to expansive.

The only thing that stops me going back is the coffee. If you change your supplier I’d be happy to return. The food and service has always been pretty good.
I have to concur with Peter, I loved everything about this place but won’t be going back – until they change the coffee.

I love the food, the environment and the friendly staff.
The coffee is superb, don’t know what Peter is on about. c(__)
Cakes are a bit too big, but what is wrong with that?

My partner and I have enjoyed many fine coffees and lunches here over the past 6 months.
Recommend to all.

As usual, lovely food fab prices and quick service (don’t know what Bradley is complaining about…!) Will be back again. Only complaint was the draft was a bit much, perhaps some heating for the winter. PS Lock has been fixed on toilet door, very clean.

I always enjoy the food at Caslinga. Well prepared and tasty.
I love the environment. It’s not in the best part of town but it truly doesn’t matter. A great setting for a sunny Sunday brunch outside. Inside is lovely as well.
Staff has always been surprisingly helpful and courteous. I always appreciate that!
The only thing I can be critical of is the coffee. It is consistently below par, unfortunately. It is drinkable but not much above that. I admit, though, that I am a total coffee snob. So for me to say that it is just drinkable means that for most people it’s quite ok!

Food was good and reasonably priced, but don’t be fooled…It took more than an hour to arrive!!! You’re better off finding somewhere else.
Oh yeah, and the lock on the toilet is broken.

I would like to point out that our staff cooked 65 full meals that lunch from 12.30 to 2.00, we had large group bookings and a lot of walk ins which is very nice, but can and did cause a huge back up in kitchen. Our apologies for that and we hope to have improved…
