Cedar Grill Cafe & Bar opened its doors in December 2010.
We are a cafe/restaurant serving late breakfast and lunch in a casual family style in a relaxing environment so please enjoy our surroundings as much as we do and wind down.
We are set just a few kilometres out of Pauanui on the Highway at the turn-off for Lakes Resort golf club.
We have a beautiful lake behind us with Ducks and Pukekos who are friendly and talkative as is the welcome by the Owners, John and Rosanna.
An alternative ph no. is 027 2233034
Also open on public holidays/long weekends or special functions other times please ring us – we will try & accommodate.

the chef must have left
the website is one mega lie
Food – Indian platter from a box one would say shore marina
served with sweet chill and what they called hollandaise sauce
Pumpkin soup well it was on its way to turning into vinegar
steak – mmmm ummm gross! what they would call vegetables I would call frozen mushy crap, they came out and looked grey watery and the potatoes were deep fried also came with a salad well what they called a salad, green leafs were slimy with grey carrot, looks like they had served up food scraps for a rabbit
Chicken wrapped in bacon was good but it was served with frozen vegetables as well
the lamb shank was good but again served with a frozen vegetable which just wrecked it
mmm all for a nice $200 dollars
i would think you would get better eating at a mission
the owner was so busy running around we could not stop laughing about how bad the food was
I would normally walk out with food like this but it was so bad it was funny and we are still laughing about it today
it is a complete miss guys spend your money where you can eat the food
these poor people should go back to retirement!

great place, loved the view, enjoyed feeding the ducks and the pukehos.
the food was wonderful, almost to good to eat it looked so good, and i do like cocktails!
Its good to see a place that was once a hot spot, reopened with such a great feel and atmosphere I’ve herd story’s about how it was once before and i wish cedar grill luck,
Did you eat at this restaurant? Have an opinion to share?
