In response to this review. This was an extremely busy night after not so busy prior weekends. After 2 large confirmed bookings another part-time local chef came and gave us a hand. He was not familiar with our menu but did his best. Actually, I made him put twice as much food on the plate as he is used to serving as we are generous with our servings. I had already explained to this group that we were very busy with bookings and because this group came in very late and by the time they finished drinking, it was 10 pm – 10.30 pm before dinner was served and we had run out of some fresh vegetables, so obviously we could not just go and get more fresh produce at that time of night so some frozen brocolli was used which was true but the carrots, pumpkin and potatoes were all freshly cooked and then quickly deepfried to give a nice crisp taste (which most people really like). I explained to them that the Indian Platter was pre-packaged from a reputable supplier and they are popular, (a lot of restaurants have them apparently we were told). I notice they left nothing on the plate. I am not sure what they are talking about the pumpkin soup (which they shared from the 1 bowl), as I had it myself and it was fine and another diner also had it and said it was lovely. Our steaks are one of our best sellers and we served around 8 other steaks that night and the comments were ‘Premo’ and ‘Perfect’ so I don’t know why comments were not good from them. When I checked their table, nobody said anything that things were not right. Obviously the salads might not be so crispy and fresh later at night as they would be at the beginning of the evening but carrots were peeled freshly so I am mystified what an earth they are talking about ‘grey’ carrots???? The salads are made fresh everyday. Normally we would use a little jug for oils or sauces, and I believe the part-time chef poured olive oil over their salad which would have made it seem more limpish. By the way they forgot to include all the drinks they consumed for the price of $200. Yes after a very busy evening from pre-booked people (one group who have also been before and really enjoyed the night) and another couple who left nice comments in our message book was really appreciated. We would have been better not to have tried our best to fit these people in after giving us nasty comments.
