Very nice Thai restaurant , clean and friendly yet casual. The food is always well cooked and fresh tasting, they appear to have a really professional team in the kitchen, also very well priced for what you get. Great place to take the family.

Over the last 2/3 years this place was a great place to dine, friendly service, consistent food, great pricing and great dining experience, as you can never fault their food. This year we have found their prices are going up, fewer meat/veges in the food, fried rice getting peppery or burnt etc is starting to be a bit of a disappointment.

Good food, friendly staff. We are never disappointed when we come to Chada Thai. The prices are starting to go up unfortunately, but in terms of food, it is still the best Thai restaurant in town.

The food is OK but not good as other Thai restaurant. But it cost more than other. The taste is not consistency and some menu not look good as in the menu photo & too small portion.

My partner and I thinks Chada Thai is the best Thai restaurant in Palmerston North. When our friends and family asks us to recommend a place to eat, it’s always the first restaurant to pop into our mind. We have tried most of their dishes and we haven’t come across a dish that wasn’t enjoyable. I personally can’t get enough of their Pad Thai and Omellete. The prices are reasonable and I don’t remember ever coming out from the restaurant not feeling satisfied with our meal. Definitely one of our favourite places in town :)

I had my meal delivered, and was impressed with the reasonable cost and promptness of delivery. However, I found it difficult to communicate with staff over the telephone without yelling. This has always been my experience when ordering from here, but I haven’t been a customer for a while. I wonder if they’d be better to put their telephone somewhere a little quieter.

I really enjoyed my prawn curry, but I wish I had been told it came with rice. I ended up boiling some while I waited and will now have to use it up somehow. Also, my friend did not enjoy her fried noodles. She had me taste them and we both detected a strong burnt flavour. Perfectly edible and efficient, but it’s not as good as it used to be, and for the price, I would have expected a little better.

I don’t normally go to all the trouble to write a review, that is unless it’s something that I can’t stop raving about.
Since my husband is sick of my going on and on about tonight’s meal, I have to post something.
Now, I have to preface this by saying I normally don’t like Thai. I’ve come to realise now, this is because I have just had bad Thai food in the past.
I had Roti and homemade satay.. the BEST roti Ihave ever had, it was soft, slightly sweet with the creamy spicy heat of the satay – gorgeous!
Our table had the green thai curry, ginger chicken, and Pad Thai.
Everything was as fresh as you could get it, the green thai curry had fresh coconut milk, the ginger chicken was just SO incredibly fresh… no one wanted to talk, except to make murmurs of pure delight!
You could close your eyes and be in Phuket very easily… just the most amazing food.
Thank you for a wonderful evening – it was even better than the show.
I will definitely be back!

Normally really enjoy the grilled chicken salad,

On this occasion we requested some delivery an hour and a half later called them to ask where it was. The person on the phone hung up on me so i called back again to be told the delivery person had gone for the night. After some conversation they organised my delivery. Once it arrived the food was cold and barely edible. On top of this the delivery person bought no change with them (required $1.50 change) he went back to the store and came back to my house a whole half hour later with the change.

I feel that this was well below acceptable standards and really hope it doesn’t happen again as i really really love their food.

Since posting this review the owner of Chada Thai has contacted me and is replacing all of the food ordered. I really enjoy the Chada Thai experience and will always order from them in the future.

-Regards one very satisfied customer

Mmmm. Very good food, authentic flavours, watch the chilli – Thai hot / Kiwi hot (big difference). Décor made us want to go back to Thailand for another holiday, brought back a lot of memories. The salads are very popular, ingredients fresh and presented well. My chilli fish was cooked well and ample but was too one dimensional needing some other items to provide variety and contrast. Definitely a dish better sharing. Staff are friendly and the menu extensive therefore deciding what you want is difficult as you are spoilt for choice. Meals are starting to creep up in price but that’s more reflective of fresh and specialist food costs. Recommend without hesitation.

Just finished our takeaways – what a delicious meal. Vegetables cooked to perfection, the rice just right, and the sauce complete, the meat great. Excellent food.

We dined at the place late last year and were not impressed; the food was greasy and overcooked.

However with this improvement we will be back many times to come ;-)

The food is great, not too oily or salty like in some Asian restaurants. I ordered a birthday cake recently and it was beautiful, highly recommended.

as a chef i love to eat and try other menus, my girlfriend and i loved chada thai as she is from thailand. the last 3 times we have been to chada thai we have been disapointed i always order crispy pork salad and my girlfriend glass noodle salad, last night was so bad that the pork was so chewy, it appeared the chef has straight deepfried the pork belly its so easy to make pork fat crispy if they just slow roasted in lots of salt then re-heat to order (in the oven not fryer) i hope the chefs can sort there problems out not only these two dishes.
