Our social club popped in here for some sustenance after a Sunday walk around the local bays.
We were mid-late afternoon and the restaurant was empty (but evidently planning a function later). We thought they may not be able to accommodate us but they did happily.
We only had snack food and drinks and it arrived swiftly.
I had a toasted cheese and ham sandwich on sour dough bread. I was very impressed with the presentation – they had sprinkled small pieces of lettuce and peppers around the plate – and the sandwich was very nice.
Overall, a very pleasant sustenance stop.

We went to the Cheeky Pipi for lunch with a entertainment card voucher … fantastic – lovely in the conservatory and the food was delicious. Visited with 2 adults, 2 kids and a visitor .. all enjoyed the food, shame it soo far from home, Island bay residents have it good.

Really enjoyed eating here. The seating was comfortable, the service was friendly and unobtrusive and the food was very nicely presented and tasty. Would go again.

Went to Cheeky Pipi on a whim, and it did not disappoint!! We had the Chicken Supreme and signature Cheeky Pipi Surf and Turf, both were cooked to perfection. The service was attentive and friendly. We will definitely go back and recommend it!
We (3 people) enjoyed a lovely lunch during the Wellington on a Plate festival. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. I had a wonderful seafood chowder which was full of seafood. It was tasty and creamy. We tried both mains and in both cases they were well presented and full of flavour. The matching wines were a perfect complement with the food. Above all the service was outstanding and we would highly recommend this restaurant. We are looking forward to returning ourselves.
We had the pleasure of holding my husband’s 65th Birthday dinner at The Cheeky Pipi. The atmosphere was friendly, warm and inviting. The food was just excellent, the staff fabulous. We all has a wonderful evening and will be visiting again and again in the future.
We spent 5 days in wellington from Auckland and the 4 off us dined at the cheeky pipi, it was the best dinning experience we had over the 5 days while in wellington. Our friends said the food was excellent if not better then where we normally eat in Auckland.
Highly Recommend it

On the 18th April 2009 I got married and the reception was held at the Cheeky Pipi.
As we went for a small wedding the Restaurant was ideal, our hosts Tommy and Phil went out of their way to create a truly memorable day.
They used our menu idea and the food not only beautifully prepared and presented, the quality of the product was highly praised by our friends and families who attended.
However the food and venue were not the only talking point, Tommy was also able to do all the flowers including the bridal flowers.
Our thanks to Tommy and his crew for creating a fabulous day for us and our families and friends to remember fondly for many years to come.
We urge anybody who may be planning a function to talk to Tommy and his crew, we feel that people will be pleasantly suprised by what “The Cheeky Pipi” has to offer.
We wish them every success and we will definitely be returning.

The Cheeky Pipi has had several chances with me, but I have been disappointed each time. This is one of the rare places that you get your coffee after your food arrives, even when the place isn’t packed (25mins or so after ordering)and/or you have to remind them. It looks real posh with beautiful wicker chairs and fabulous furnishings, but looks are deceiving, you have to line up at the back of the cafe to order. That is a finicky thing, but the look just doesn’t equal the expectation. Overall the food is OK – but the toast is just bread waved over a flame (how hard is it to toast bread?). Maybe that’s where the cheekiness comes in. I want charm, I want character. Not high prices for average food I can make better at home and coffee priced higher than the average Wgtn cafe.
The Cheeky Pipi is a gem of a cafe in Island Bay. We had a lovely lunch here today. The Thai beef salad and BLT came with generously sized portions and the coffee was good. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Highly recommended.

Went to the Cheeky Pipi for dinner and had a lovely meal. Try the steamed mussels……bliss!! Good range of wine and friendly, smiling service -we’ll be back!

I recently went to Cheeky Pipi for a banquet with a group of 10.
The Sunday roast dinner was really great and cooked to perfection. This was followed by a choice of three scrumptious sweets. The blue berry one which i chose was delicious.
The restaurant surroundings were very pleasant and welcoming, the service was friendly and excellent. The duty manger Phil went out of his way to ensure that the needs of our group were being well looked after.
Our group price per person was only $24.95, for a drink on arrival, a roast dinner followed by a dessert/
What a great deal!
This is one cafe/ restatement which i can strongly recommend.
Cheers
