We dined here last Friday evening. Service friendly and very well informed about the menu items. We had three entrees – the spinach leaf and coconut, oyster, and scallop – all delicious. We followed this with the green papaya and sweet pork salad – also delicious, but the large wedge of cabbage leaves on the plate added nothing to the dish, either in terms of taste or appearance. For mains, we had the grilled tuna – beautifully seasoned and cooked; and the pineapple seafood curry. This was also a very flavoursome dish, with one exception. While the pieces of tuna, scallops and mussels were all fine, there was, unfortunately, also one single large piece of calamari which was incredibly tough. I actually had to physically remove it from my mouth and put it aside as it was not even chewable. We shared the tasting plate for dessert – a lovely and generous serving of five desserts – four of them delicious, and the dish, as a whole, excellent value. The only slightly weak element here was the crispy fried banana. The coating itself was perfectly cooked, but the banana inside was somewhat bland and mushy. Perhaps rolling the banana in some cinnamon sugar before battering it would add the necessary little lift in flavour? Overall, however, leaving aside the calamari, the meal was beautifully cooked and presented, and we would certainly dine here again and definitely recommend Chinwag to others.

LOVE LOVE LOVE CHINWAG!!
Great service, friendly staff who are very knowledgeable and happy to make recommendations. Beautiful atmosphere & vibe in the restaurant. Amazing cocktails too!
Have been many times to both Victoria Street, High Street & for takeaways. Never disappoints, every friend I take there becomes a real advocate for the place.
Happy hour is great, excellent selection of wines too.
Try the carmelised pork hock, definately worth the risk – INCREDIBLE!
