I do not agree with Lisa and Dave. I’m wondering if they could be making it up …

I like the service in chokdee, their care for customer and I definitely like the food. I can get my meal thai spicy or mild and it always look fresh and tasty. It’s my No1 Thai restaurant choice in NZ.

Chok dee. Situated in a lovely small town setting with plenty of local patrons, evocative of an extended family gathering – such a wonderful environment that I didn’t want to leave. One set menu with plenty of options, the cuisine is outstanding. The green curry was rich with flavor and the shrimp toast was succulent

Totally do not agree with the previous review, myself and 4 friends ate there last night.

Service was great, very prompt with food, delicous tasting and very good value. Very good for a casual meal, not a top class restaurant but great for casual meal with friends or family. Decor was fine reflecting the culture of Thailand. I suspect that the previous reviewer may not have considered that eye contact is not considered “good manners” or appropriate in all cultures. Would recommend eating there!

Chokdee in Motueka, where do I start? BAD service, waitress never smiled or made eye contact. I ordered massamun curry with chicken but was told I could only have beef which must mean it is pre-made, therefore NOT fresh! Wasnt offered a highchair for our baby, had to go to the counter to get drink refills as not a waitress in sight. When we finally got our meals it was extemely sweet (curry). Tacky decor very uninviting. The worst thai experience on our South Island holiday.
