Entrepreneurs Hannah and Robert Bradley, have transformed the old Te Awamutu Salvation Army hall into a classic European restaurant, Churchills, where they have a dedicated and talented team who are seriously passionate about offering a positive dining experience. Situated near the Te Awamutu Rose Gardens, guests can enjoy a classic Churchills breakfast or a mid day main to coincide with a choice of deli foods and then take a pleasant walk. I was thrilled by my experience at Churchills recently and highly recommend it to all who want a bit of luxury as a reasonable price. The surroundings are tastefully modern yet still in keeping with the history of the building. I was struck by the professionalism of the waiting staff, who were friendly, courteous and appeared to enjoy their jobs. Our meals arrived in a timely manner, each order delivered seamlessly to the correct person. The cutlery, I noticed, was polished, not a water mark or spot to be seen. No only this but the table was set with real linen napkins. The food was, artfully presented, expertly cooked and delicious. My prime Hereford steak, was tender, succulent and melt-in- he-mouth. I have never had steak this good before, anywhere. We came away from our meal feeling thoroughly spoiled and wowed. It is well worth a trip from Hamilton, or surrounding districts to experience this very special restaurant. Well done to the Churchills’ team, your doing a fantastic job.

We use this remarkable establishment for our early morning supervisor meetings! And every time is as gr8 as the previous! The muesli is my favourite!!!! And the chai latte!!!! Wonderful staff,gr8 chef’s!!!!

Visit Churchills reasonably often for lunch, food is generally good clearly made on the premises, though wouldn’t rave about the Kebabs. We had always had good service and staff are friendly, have heard others complain it is slow but haven’t experienced that. Unfortunately they have stopped doing evening meals, had the best meal in Te Awamutu here some time ago.

Just had my 1st visit to Churchill’s and it won’t be the last. The staff where friendly and helpful with suggestions, the cafe is spotless and a pleasure to dine in. Superb coffee and the food was fresh and tasty. Parking not really a hassle as you can use the Homewards carpark. Well priced. Thanks ladies!

We have dined here frequently even travelling from Hamilton. It is great value and the food is awesome. Well worth a try.

Quite disappointed!! Service was exceptionally slow and no apologies despite waiting for ages for food and drinks and having to go and prompt the staff when our food didn’t arrive. The food was nice for the main meals. The cake was not good- the carrot cake was old and dry. Not up to what is normally expected of Churchills and very very disappointed. Will not be back in a hurry!!

Recently a group of 8 of us went to Churchills for a birthday dinner. The service was good, the waitress regularly checking that we were ok for drinks. The food was impeccably cooked, was beautifully presented and tasted superb! We had a throughly enjoyable evening and would reccomend to all!

I am an avid fan of churchills, we have always had friendly service by the staff and the food is delicious. Only downside is peak time at lunchtime when you are ordering something takeaway, wait times vary between 10-20 minutes to reheat food takeaway. You can find yourself waiting in line for a while too. Otherwise great place. Would definitely recommend for those who are going for brunch, late lunch or dinner 
The atmosphere is fab and the food choice is brill. I will continue to drop into Churchills provided it’s not 12pm and there are parks out front. Keep it up!

I have stopped at Churchills for lunch on numerous occasions and am almost always very satisfied with my dining experience. Coffee generally very good, and the food is always nicely presented. Nice flavours and reasonably priced.

we chose this cafe from the internet( however a decent website with pics and menu options would be good for the customer and the business) to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, prefering to leave hamilton city for something out of town.we were not disappointed the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant, however was a bit cold in the main area of the cafe, they had heating,but with doors open to enter, was rather chilly in there, outside could have done with more tables, which probably are available during summer hours,however we had a nice little private area which was warm and so the whole experience was rather nice, will be going back again in the future probably with family or friends.

Thank you for a delicious meal and excellent service. There were four in our party and each one of us rated the whole experience highly. The surroundings were lovely, the waiters were attentive but not too pushy and we were able to change parts of the meal to suit our tastes. We will be back!

I dined at Churchills for lunch.
The service was slow and they needed more staff on.
We waited a while for our smoothie and then when the meals we delivered we asked for some chutney and it never arrived. the staff seemed flushed and there were dirty tables all around us for the whole 40 mins that we were there.

My husband and I have lived in New Zealand
for nearly four years and have traveled both Islands, Churchills service and food have been the best that we have experienced, the staff are charming and very helpful and the food is great, Hot tip try the chocolate fondant dessert, scrummy.

Went to Churchill’s for tea as a family last night, was amazing, got a lovely friendly greeting at the door as soon as you walked in, the service was fantastic, very friendly, attentive, nothing was too much trouble, the food, was AMAZING! so tasty, filling, and picture perfect presentation, it was definitely the wow factor, would highly recommend to all, prices were good, am definitely going back again with more friends./ Thanks Churchill’s for a great night out.
