WOW…. stunned… this place may not look like much from the outside but WOW… we just got back from the most amazing dinner I have ever eaten in a Dunedin restaurant and so so cheap too :)
We started with pakora and the sauce was to die for…. I will dream of these tonight… the mains arrived after a short wait…. AMAZING…. we had the vegetable satay on rice, tofu and vegetable on rice and roast vegetable lasagna….. All were absolutely stunning, yummy, delicious…. huge piece of lasagna for $7.50, full of pumpkin, potato, kumara and carrots etc…. just amazing….. :) one happy family…. can not believe I have never been here before… I was missing out… will eat here all the time from now on… the cabinet food looked to die for and the sweets looked amazing also… will some in for coffee and cake and try!!!! :) not to mention the live jazz playing …. how groovy…. what an awesome place…. very casual and homely…. FANTASTIC FANTASTIC FANTASTIC….. :)

I love that I can walk in and know there will be gluten-free things I can eat every time! Lots of variety and healthy stuff as well as a nice range of drinks and teas.

This place is so brilliant. I’ve never taken to a particular restaurant before, but this store has stolen my heart. Being a vegetarian makes food pretty difficult, especially when eating out with friends who take you places that have only one of two meat-less options (which often aren’t all that great.) Not the case with Circadian Rhythm, though! When I bring my friends here they’re always full of praise, and the food is so good that they don’t even miss the meat. Despite being a poor student I try come here to eat about once a week, but I don’t feel bad because the it’s not expensive at all, which is very wallet friendly. I’m attempting to try everything on the menu and I haven’t been disappointed once! The curries and wraps and samosas and drinks and desserts are all so good! The servings are filling and delicious and the staff are so friendly. I’m pretty sure Sue and the crew recognise me as a regular now. I’m usually rather antsy in restaurants but the atmosphere is so calming that I prefer to stay and eat rather than take away, which is a first. 5 stars all the way! I recommend everyone in Dunedin to come here at least once, because I know you’ll be back for seconds on your own accord ;D

Circadian Rhythm has the best vegan and gluten free food in Dunedin. Their menu is healthy, flavorful and made with high quality ingredients. Everything they make is delicious – especially the desserts. Circadian Rhythm is the place to go for great food at a great price with a casual, relaxed atmosphere.

Just moved to Dunedin from Wellington and stumbled upon this treasure! I had to write a review. This cafe is without a doubt New Zealand’s finest vegan eatery. Those of an omnivorous bent will also enjoy the delicious cuisine on offer. They have an outstanding selection of fresh juices, coffees, chai, smoothies, a large array of biscuits, cakes & fudges, a buffet table, pizza, savoury scones, curries, salads, pasta, samosas, wraps, sandwiches. 99% of the food is vegan and most menu items offer a gluten-free option also. Circadian Rhythm has a great atmosphere and I saw that they do live performances on some nights. Has become my regular hangout! Who knew Dunedin would have the best vegan cafe/restaurant in NZ???

Went to Circadian Rhythm Cafe for the first time tonight. I enjoyed the food and the relaxed atmosphere. Food was very flavourful and the service was good. A good range of food for everyone not just vegetarians. The nachos were great. Would like to try one of their range of smoothies next time. Will be coming back soon.

I’m stopping in here more and more frequently. I enjoy the bloody flesh of an animal as much as the next Omnivore, but this is forgotten when I sample the outstanding Vegan foods at Circadian Rhythm.
The Filo rolls are so delicious and full of flavour, and I definitely recommend the range of Smoothies.
The service is probably the friendliest I’ve had in a Dunedin Cafe.
Haven’t been there at the right time for the buffet yet, but next time!

After watching Slumdog Millionaire tonight for some reason I had a desire to eat Indian. Wanted straight out vegetarian so this was it. Despite them being closed by time I got there later on a Sunday night, they still made me up some food which is pretty fantastic service.

Dunedin is blessed with a number of vegetarian eateries, and this place definately counts well among the them. The food is great and pretty good value (I find it hard to go past their buffet), and non-vegetarians will do well with their range of savoury tastes.

I call this a Dunedin cafe rather than just a cafe in Dunedin with it’s down to earth & relaxed atmosphere. You could feel comfortable playing a board game here or reading a book and the notice board is service to it’s patrons. Watch out for the music gigs here which adds to Dunedin’s arts scene well.
