First time here and the last. I ordered the prime scotch fillet medium and was over well done chewy hard and tasteless.. salads are mostly lettuce with a slice of tomato.. waited half an hour for our food then had to go and ask for dessert, waitress is nice but seems like no one cares. Should have read reviews before I ate here.

We often dine at Cobb and co, never had a problem. Great kids menu. Friendly staff. Always clean and tidy. Keep up the good work.

I have never in my life eaten food so crap before. I ordered the pork roast. The meat tasted like it was 4 or 5 days old and reheated in the microwave. the veges consisted of deep fry-ed potato’s, kumara and pumpkin and what looked like steamed veges reheated in water (limp, lifeless crap) my partner ordered a steak rare and got a well done, she would have been better to go down to the town basin with a fishing rod and fish out a gumboot, it would have been less chewy.
Me and my partner have been in hospo for nearly 20 years and in all that time i have never wanted to walk into the kitchen and throw the food at the chef…. but i did that night.
DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

A friend and I visited Cobb and Co Whangarei last night.
When we got in the door we had to wait ten minutes for a table in a half full restaurant. They obviously had certain areas that they did not book for staff convenience. We were sat next to two family tables.
First up we ordered tequila and orange juice, however, they did not have grenadine.
We ordered the mid winter xmas meal and what rubbish it was.
The entree was a shrimp entree, a mussel cut in half along with some prawns and salad cream. More lettuce than seafood.
The so called roast sirloin of beef was obviously cold meat that had been cut up some time previously and reheated. The gravy was lumpy instant gravy.. they dont roast the meat on site and make gravy from fresh meat and vegetable juices. (it tasted awful)
The vegetables were disgusting. Luke warm julienned steamed carrots, half cooked sliced (limp)cabbage and silverbeet together, potatoes that had been precooked and then deep-fried, they were not roasted and I suspect the same of the kumara and pumpkin.
It was so bad that both of us put over half of the main meals on each plate and fed it to the dog waiting in the car.
I left a note on the table stating that the food was utter crap.
We did not order dessert because I felt that it would probably be something out of a cardboard box dressed up with yesterdays cream.
It was not a nice experience and I would not recommend it as a dining experience.
I am a licenced general manager in the hospitality industry and would be mortified if any place that I worked for served up that kind of rubbish.
The waitress was pleasant enough, but the sales pitch took away from the dining experience. She asked us three times if we wanted bread. Good thing we didnt order it.The whole experience is nothing like the original cobb and co and was a complete let down.
$30 later and a long road ahead we got out of there to feed the dog waiting in the car.

Today 18 June my wife & I went to C&Co for lunch our daughter & husband was to join us.There was nobody @ recptn. and only a few diners. Well we waited 7Min’s before a waitress came over but b/4 she spoke an older lady appeared carrying a tray “Be with you shortly” she said.Well she delivered one order and then the other while we waited. After another 5 Min’s this lady was still gossiping to the customers we walked out.If this is how C&co want to run their business then good luck to you.Bring on Lone Star restaurants. P.S We all went down to Pura Vida. The 4 of us had a lovely meal spent nearly $200. The service was great. Suggest you send your staff there for some tuition

Overall i thought this restaurant was great. Reminded me of why we miss Cobb n Co in Auckland from when I was younger. Lovely food and the service was good too. Pricing for meals not too bad as well and everything was served nice and hot.

Went there for my mums birthday, loved the meals, unfortunately a drink got spilled on my partner and jokes were made from then on. Over all we had a good time really apart from that one little in connivance! =)

Disgusting. After waiting well over an hour for our meals they were all served cold. I could hear someone yelling in the kitchen from the far end of the restaurant when I sent back the meals, I didn’t appreciate the obscenities consider my young children were seated with me and my partner. Because of this behavior, in what is suppose to be a family friendly restaurant, we decided to leave. The staff tried to charge us for the meals we’d sent back, I refused to pay, and told them exactly what I thought of them. They threatened to call the police. We left.
I wouldn’t eat here again even if it was the last place to purchase food on earth, I’d go bush first.
