6 Reviews for Cookies Restaurant
Cookies is a buffet self service with emphasis on old fashioned roast pork/beef/chicken and spuds with veges and gravy. There is hot soup too. The sort of no frills food I grew up on in NZ. There is no personal service and you take your dishes back to the side board but you don’t have to wash them! For for the price I wouldn’t have minded. Any one wanting to use it for a wedding reception (see other reviews) should not have high expectations. It has bonny deserts too but it does not pretend to be haut cuisine dining.

my husband myself and our 3year old went here for dinner on Friday. what a great family restaurant. soup, salad, main dessert, and coffee all for $22 pp and we only had to pay $3 for our child. the staff were friendly, the food was great. The crackling on the roast pork WOW. great value for money. loved looking at the artwork on the walls after inquiring is done by local artists
we will be back

my family and i have been to this restaurant a few times now. The new location is great, the rear entrance made dinner a hole lot easier for me as mum is in a wheelchair and we went straight from the car park to the table.
The man on the front counter was so helpful, as was the chef who made sure there was food available for my diabetic mum as well as my boy who is gluten intolerant. great value for money we will be going again soon

I also attended a wedding reception at Cookies. And I will never be returning.
The service was horrible, the staff had no enthusiasm what so ever and acted very put out when asked to do a trivial task such as pour a drink!
And I also was not the only guest offended at the service.
Not recommended if you’re after even half decent service.

I went here for a wedding reception recently and I cannot express how disappointed I was with their food, the terrible, rude customer service and the overall appearance of the place. The staff made no effort whatsoever and even asked guests to collect glasses and plates as they ‘had nearly run out’ – awful, awful, would NOT recommend this for any occasion. The most rude service I have ever had, and at least 10 fellow guests agreed.
